In November 1934, Shi Liangcai returned to Hangzhou for recuperation due to his health, and after a few days, he took his family with him and prepared to go to Shanghai. Accompanying him were his wife Shen Qiushui, niece, son, and classmates.
Just as they were riding to the train station, the agents and killers directed by the Kuomintang rushed out and fired several shots in a row, and Shi Liang fled the car in a hurry.
Shi Liangcai was chased by the agents all the way to a pond not far away, and in full view of everyone, the agent raised his gun and killed Shi Liangcai on the spot, while Shen Qiushui luckily escaped the disaster.
Watching her husband being killed, Shen Qiushui instantly felt a blank in his mind while he was shocked.
Later, according to the disclosure of the Kuomintang military commanders, the assassination was a direct order of Chiang Kai-shek, and people also knew that Shi Liang had sacrificed for the revolution.
As soon as the news of Shi Liangcai's assassination came out, the whole country immediately went into an uproar, and all circles condemned the Kuomintang's perverse behavior and demanded that the judicial department investigate the murderer within a time limit to make the people indignant.
At the funeral ceremony where Shi Liangcai was buried, in the face of his relatives and friends, Shen Qiushui regarded the guqin that he and his lover regarded as a treasure, gently swung it on the case, and played the last song "The roots are exhausted, the lonely goose is two or three sounds."
After the song, Qiushui threw the piano into the fire, and this song "Qiushui Yiren" is not only the last piece of the piano, but also the last song of Shen Qiushui.
