On April 3, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that the specific situation and process of the special operation in Ukraine and the liberation of Donbass on that day was as follows: the forces of the Donetsk People's Republic continued to attack and were fighting in the Novoch-Bakh-Mutovka and Troitsk regions. In the Novoselovka region, the retreating troops of the 25th Ukrainian Airborne Brigade suffered heavy losses due to shelling, killing more than 40 people and destroying 7 armored vehicles.
Russian forces continue to strike at Ukraine's military infrastructure. High-precision air-based missiles destroyed large fuel depots in Konstantinovka in the Nikolaev Oblast, Slavuta in the Rivnu oblast and Ternopil, which supplied fuel to Ukrainian forces in the direction of Nikolayev and Donetsk.
The blow on the Airport in Balovnoye on the outskirts of Nikolaev destroyed the aircraft apron and fuel depot.
The attack on the military airfield in Kiev Oblast Vasilykov paralyzed the Ukrainian Air Force's early warning and aviation air defense command center.
Russian Air and Space Force campaign tactics and army aviation destroyed 42 ukrainian military installations, including:
3 sets of anti-aircraft missile system launchers, including 1 set of "Beech-M1" and 2 sets of "Оса-АКМ" launchers;
1 artillery company, 2 salvo rocket system devices;
2 rocket, artillery and ammunition field warehouses, as well as 8 strongholds and Ukrainian equipment concentration areas.
Russian air defense systems shot down 3 unmanned aerial vehicles in the air over the settlements of Krasnogorka and Grabovskaya.
Since the start of the special military operation, the Russian army has destroyed:
386 drones;
224 anti-aircraft missile systems;
1918 tanks and other armored fighting vehicles;
209 salvo rocket systems;
814 field artillery and mortars;
1789 special military vehicles.
On April 2, Ukrainian President Zelenskiy chaired a meeting of the President's Office with the Government's Economic Group to study Ukraine's economic development and forecast its prospects. Zelenskiy's office informed its website of the outcome of the meeting that "ukraine spent about $10 billion in a month of fighting, according to the Ministry of Finance's calculations." The meeting discussed the state of the Ukrainian economy, the sources of expenditure funds, in particular Ukraine's own tax revenues and the assistance of international partners, and predicted the economic development of Ukraine.
