
Today the Knicks officially announced that they will get Evan Fournier by signing first and then trading. Bobby Marks, ESPN's collective agreement expert, later revealed the contract details:
The four-year contract, which totals $73 million in salary, includes $1.5 million in prize money each season that is unlikely to be earned. Fourniers' salaries for the next four years are$17.14 million for the 2021-22 season, $18 million for the 2022-23 season, $18.85 million for the 2023-24 season, and $19 million for the 2024-25 season.
After joining the Knicks, Fournier will wear the number 13 jersey. The Knicks revealed in the statement that the team also received two future second-round picks from the Celtics from the trade, and the Knicks will send cash compensation. A number of reporters followed up and reported that the Knicks got a second-round pick from the Hornets' 2023 top 55 pick to protect the second round.
