Battlebound was created in 2021 by former Fist employee Adam Hensel, who has previously worked on League of Legends and Genting Game. Battlebound, made up of veteran employees from the development teams of Blizzard, Ubisoft and NCSoft, is currently working on two games.

This funding will allow Battlebound to scale up the game and release the game faster. The studio plans to set up an offline headquarters for developers who prefer to collaborate face-to-face. Last year Battlebound also launched an NFT series with 10,000 game avatars, with the next series coming later this year.
