Scoring champions are more competitive than ever Durant is still hopeful

TSN reporter Gilbert McGregor took stock of the competition for this season's scoring champions in an article.

The 2021-22 estranged estranged competition is historically high, as the four players expected to be the top scorers have an average of just 0.6 points per game.

Scoring champions are more competitive than ever Durant is still hopeful

Here's information about the four players who are expected to be selected as scoring champions this season:

1. James, averaging 30.13 points per game, has 8 games remaining in the regular season

2. Embiid, averaging 29.90 points per game, with 8 games remaining in the regular season

3. Alphabet Brother, averaging 29.72 points per game, with 8 games remaining in the regular season this season

4. Durant, averaging 29.53 points per game, with 9 games remaining in the regular season

Is Durant still expected to be the top scorer?

The NBA league stipulates that only players who have played in at least 58 games this season (70% or more of the season appearances) can compete for the award. Durant currently plays in 48 games and the Nets have nine more games in the regular season this season, so Durant certainly can't meet the minimum playing requirements.

However, the NBA rules add that if a player's total number of statistics in this category is divided by the minimum playing requirement, and the average value per game is still higher than all other players, then the player can receive the corresponding honor.

That is: by the end of the regular season on April 10, Durant's total points for the season will be divided by 58 games, and if the average score per game can be higher than the average score per game of James, Embiid, alphabet brother, then Durant will be the top scorer.
