What exactly is face blindness on the contrary?
Face blindness, is it impossible to distinguish who is in the boy group and who is in the girl group? Or do you not know whether the pillow wife is beautiful or not?

In fact, the real face blindness in medicine is not the same as the face blindness we usually think.
Face blindness, also known as face agnosia and face amnesia, refers to the fact that patients cannot recognize and distinguish acquaintances, celebrities and even their own faces, but the recognition and intelligence level of things other than faces are normal.
There is an area in our brain called the fusiform gyrus, which is responsible for recognizing a variety of functions such as the face, and if the fusiform gyrus region is damaged or stunted, it may cause face blindness.

Face blindness, or facial agnosia, can be divided into two broad categories: congenital and acquired. Congenital facial agnosia is distinctly hereditary (2.47% incidence in Caucasia), while acquired facial agnosia occurs most often after brain damage.

How can face blind people better remember faces?
Face blindness as a medical problem is still incurable, but can be improved through functional training and alternative training.
● Functional training
For example, give patients with acquired face agnosia some semantic information prompts (name, occupation, etc.) to activate the associated knowledge, and use other information channels that the patient has not been damaged to enhance the familiarity with the human face.
● Alternative training
Identify faces by using external cues (hair, beard, clothing, body shape, or certain local features), behavioral cues (gait, posture, body language, etc.), and voice cues (recognizable sounds, tones).

01 I can't tell what foreigners and animals look like
This is actually the "alien effect", not face blindness, people always have better memory recognition of faces of the same race than different races (that is, the "native effect").
However, the "alien effect" is not innate, and the theory of interracial interaction is believed to be formed in the process of frequent and homogeneous interactions, and it is not possible to distinguish between the less contact with foreign races and unfamiliarity with appearance.
02 Can't tell the twins
Unable to distinguish between twins (especially identical twins), or two people who can't distinguish between themselves who look and dress similarly, are generally normal, not face blind.
03 Can't tell the difference between plastic surgery face and net red face
As for the plastic surgery face and net red face of the same hospital doctor, even ordinary people may be difficult to distinguish, and it is not face blind.
04 I don't recognize some familiar faces
Sometimes it feels familiar to see some faces, but it may be normal to not recognize who they are. Remember someone clearly, either you're impressed or you've just seen it. So conversely, having seen someone occasionally a long time ago, it's possible to remember it clearly.
