On March 27, the Xianning Writers Association held a donation activity for "The Long Song of Mufu" in Fushan Street, Xian'an District, and more than 20 people from the Urban Writers Association, the Folk Writers Association, the relevant responsible persons of Fushan Street, community literary and art volunteers and other relevant personnel participated in the activity.
"The Long Song of Mufu" is the winning project of the second "Hometown Book" long essay of the Hubei Writers Association in 2019, and was recently published by the Changjiang Literature and Art Publishing House, which is the first work published by the project. "Immortal Father", whose real name is Liu Yingxing, is one of the first 7 "folk storytellers" in the province named after the Provincial People's Association and the Provincial Qunyi Museum, an important inheritor of the Xianning Long Song, and one of the protagonists of the "Mufu Long Song". "Immortal Father" is a member of the Liu Jinnan group in Longtan Village, Fushan Street, Xian'an District, and has now passed away.
Li Zhuan donated more than 30 copies of "The Long Song of The Curtain" to the relatives of the "Immortal Father", Fushan Street and the participants.
Li Zhuan introduced the original intention of creation and the process of planning, excavating, collecting and sorting out materials to creation and publication, and conducted face-to-face exchanges and discussions with the participating writers and artists on the excavation and inheritance of Xianning's local culture.
In the past two years, through a large number of fieldwork and literature combing, Li Zhuan has mastered thick creative materials, written in prose form as creators, singers, collectors, and academic researchers of Xianning Long Songs, told historical stories, recounted traditional culture, and said long songs ancient and modern, restoring a kind of "folk culture ecology". The works are literary, documentary, academic and readable in one, the language is concise and clean, and the narrative of the writer is as light as a weight, which is not only an ode to the excellent traditional culture of the motherland, but also a blessing on the soft power of urban culture.
Liao Shibin, vice chairman of the Xianning Citizens' Association and chairman of the Xian'an District People's Association, believes that Xianning City is the only "hometown of Chinese Han folk narrative long songs" named by the China Folk Writers Association in 2016, and the city has now collected and sorted out 110 long songs of more than 500 lines. It provides a good reference for inheriting the "long song" of Xianning's local culture and is a rare good book.
"The Long Song of Mufu" shows the value of Xianning Long Song in the cultural development of southern Hunan Province, continues the historical context, strengthens cultural self-confidence, and condenses spiritual strength. We hope that more writers and artists will join the ranks of digging deep and spreading local culture, carry forward the traditional culture of Xianning, and show the connotation and charm of Xianning.
