Recently, arTnews, an international authoritative art media, released an important list of 25 of the world's best museum buildings in the past 100 years, which have raised new possibilities for the appearance of museums.

The Shanghai Oil Tank Art Center ranked ninth on the list, and the Shanghai Oil Tank Art Center is the only museum in China to be included in the list.

These museums are well-known and internationally renowned, have you ever punched a card? Have you ever seen them?

01. Centre Pompidou, Paris

The Pompidou National Centre for Arts and Culture is a renowned museum of modern art, and because of the appearance of this modern building, it is jokingly called "the refinery of the city center".

Its designers are Renzo Piano of Italy and Richard Rogers of The United Kingdom, who won the Pritzker Architecture Prize, the world's highest award in architecture, in 1998.

02. Brazilian Niemeyer Museum of Contemporary Art

Located in Curitiba, in the Brazilian state of Paraná, the Niemeyer Museum is the largest museum in Latin America.

Designed by renowned architect Oscar Niemeyer and completed in 1996, the museum sits on a cliff and looks a lot like a spaceship. He also co-designed the United Nations Headquarters building in New York. In 1988 Niemeyer was awarded the Pritzker Prize for Architecture.

The design of this museum is bold and ingenious, with sea threads at the door, and the exhibitions held in the museum are also avant-garde and bold.

03. National Museum of African American History and Culture

The Smithsonian Institution's National Museum of African American History and Culture (NMAAHC) is the result of decades of ongoing efforts to honor black history and culture.

The building's shape design is derived from traditional Sculpture in West Africa, which rethinks the function of public buildings in the 21st century and aims to provide a new user experience and interactive way, which is representative of the new style of museum.

04. Guggenheim Museum, New York

The Guggenheim Museum in New York is the headquarters of the Guggenheim Museum. It is a famous landmark in New York, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, one of the four masters of modern architecture, and the building sits at the corner of a street in New York City, which is very different from any other building, and it can be said that it looks like a teacup, or like a huge white spring, probably because of the spiral structure and some people say like a conch.

05. Sainsbury Annex, National Gallery, London

Designed by Robert Venturi and Dennis Scott Brown, sainsbury is a masterpiece of postmodernism, a fusion of modernism, contemporary architecture and British classicism, steel, stone, glass and more.

06. Museum of Modern Art, Frankfurt

Located in a triangular plot north of the Cathedral in the center of Frankfurt, the Museum of Modern Art is a compact, complete and unique triangular building designed by the famous Austrian designer Hollein, so it is called a cake, while the interior is like a maze, with bright colors, like the taste level of the cake, visitors can look down on each floor of the whole museum, like watching the inside filling of the cake slices.

07. Naoshima Dichu Museum of Art, Japan

The Jichu Art Museum building is the work of Tadao Ando, which has a breath-taking beauty. There are not many exhibits in the Jichu Art Museum, and only three artists are exhibited. They were the Impressionist painter Monet, the contemporary artist Walter de Maria and James Terrell.

08. New State Gallery, Berlin

The New National Gallery in Berlin was built by Mies van Der Rohe, a pioneer of modern architecture, and is itself a sculpture of steel and glass, with exhibitions ranging from Impressionism to German Expressionism, Realism, Cubism, and even large sculptures by Henri Moore and others. Opposite it, the golden walls and zigzag shape of the Berliner Philharmoniker resemble a sail raised in a sea of music.

09. Shanghai Oil Tank Art Center

It was originally the earliest airport in China, Shanghai Longhua Airport, and after the airport was deactivated, it was fully preserved. Founded by collector Mr. Qiao Zhibing.

The Oil Tank Art Center consists of five oil tanks, three of which are connected as exhibition spaces for the museum, and the rest as supporting functions. It is an art ecology integrating various exhibition spaces, parks, green spaces, squares, riverscapes and cafes, and is a vibrant artistic and cultural landscape.

10. Museum of Art of São Paulo

The Museum of Art of São Paulo is the most important art museum in Brazil in South America. The architect was the female architect Lina Berthi, a pioneer of modern architecture, exhibition and consciousness in Brazil, and when she designed the building in 1968, it caused quite a stir in São Paulo, which was only 70,000 people at the time. In August 1989, it was declared one of Brazil's archaeological and cultural heritage.
