The microphone is the singer's instrument and should be like the familiar guitar, keeping it in top condition when playing. For singers performing on stage, a stable microphone is a weapon that enables singers to convey emotions with sound.
The OD505 from Augustrian Audio O'Sonic is one such artifact. In addition to having excellent vocal microphones for clear and accurate sound reproduction, it also has a strange sound "concealer" effect.
Unlike the traditional single-actuation unit's dynamic microphone, the OD505 uses two independent pickups and is a uniquely designed active-coil vocal microphone that facilitates live vocal recording work.
The active dynamic diaphragm on the front of the OD505 features a built-in preamplifier, allowing sensitivity comparable to that of capacitive microphones. The passive unit at the bottom of the position uses a polarity flip setting to sense and eliminate unnecessarily handheld noise.

OD505 pickup structure and 3D Pop muffler
The OD505 also features a proprietary 3D Pop noise canceller design that further reduces vocal blasting and frictional noise due to gripping during handheld performances. In addition, the front film cassette is supported by a rubber bushing for further physical isolation.
Since the OD505 has active circuitry, it requires an illusion power supply of 48 V to operate.
OD505 frequency response curve
The OD505 provides supercardioid directivity with good off-axis frequency response distortion control. Its frequency response is 35 Hz to 16 kHz, while it is slightly improved on the frequency band of about 3k to enhance the presence and clarity of the vocals. The active circuit has a sensitivity of 4.4 mV/Pa (-47 dBV) and a maximum SPL of 154 dB. The output impedance is 275 ohms and the load impedance is greater than 1k ohms.
Another feature of the OD505 is the innovative "Open Acoustic Technology" system of Austrian Audio. This design allows sound to be picked up from all directions unhindered by reducing the number of contact points between the diaphragm and the housing. At the same time, this design also helps to eliminate unnecessary reflections and resonances caused by contact with the microphone housing when holding the microphone, with less impact on vocal pickup.
OD505 low cut switch
The OD505 fuselage is equipped with a low-cut switch that can reduce low frequencies below 120 Hz, thereby minimizing the pickup of various mechanical noises and further protecting the OD505 from various "rough operations" during stage performances. When using the microphone at close range, the use of a low-cut filter can also help reduce the near-field effect.
The microphone body is a black one-piece die-cast metal process, while the inside of the microphone body is the signature red tone of Othiso. The bottom of the fuselage is studded with a LOGO logo of Oshisheng. The OD505 has a well-balanced weight distribution that allows the singer to hold it easily. On the bottom of the microphone is a standard XLR connector that provides a balanced audio output.
The microphone package includes a sturdy adjustable bracket clip, bracket threaded adapter, and a storage bag lined with cushioning protection.
OD505 standard
The Austrian Audio OD505 active dynamic vocal microphone brings a new standard to the audio industry for stage performances. With its state-of-the-art dual pickup design, active circuitry, integrated low-cut filter and open acoustics, the OD505 will be an excellent contender. The open, natural sound that Osivo has always insisted on can also be easily integrated into live sound applications, and only the smallest EQ is needed to highlight the singer's strengths. Its sturdy structure and modern style are also attractive on stage and in front of the camera.
