Pebbles (children's poems)
Text/Pei Yuping (Yuping)
The riverbed of the Crane River
Lying on it was a huge slippery pebble
It looks very peculiar
I heard about this stone
Mom used to dry washed clothes
I stand here today
It was as if I saw a faint warm mist
Floating in the Crane River
Mom watched me in the spring breeze by the river
Cobblestones by the Crane River
It looked very kind
There are many stories on it that I don't know
Mom's singing voice when she was young
They were all recorded by the pebbles by the river
Stick your ears to this huge pebble
I heard my mother's voice
I heard the sound of searching for roots in life
