Barca are interested in re-signing the veteran
Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing Leipzig's organizational core Danny Olmo this summer. The 23-year-old suffered a frustrating injury blow in 2021-22, but he still scored three goals and provided five assists in 18 games in all competitions. Olmo began his career at the prestigious La Masia Academy in Barcelona before joining Croatian giants Dinamo Zagreb in 2014. According to European media reports, Barca have been interested in re-signing Olmo for some time, and they are eager to negotiate the £40m deal with Leipzig this summer. The report added that fringe players including Braithwaite and Luc De Jong will leave the club, which will help free up funds for summer targets such as Olmo. In addition, the arrival of the Spain international may depend on whether Osman Dembele decides to extend his contract at Camp Nou, where the current contract expires in June. Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola is also interested in the technically well-rounded midfielder, whose contract with Leipzig expires in June 2024.
