As the 2021-22 regular season draws to a close, and Kevin Durant and the Nets have only an 8th-place finish in the East, Durant also expressed his compliments to Ja Morant ahead of the next game against the Grizzlies:
'I think the greatest player in our game is to be able to be anybody for the team at any time and I think Morant is becoming that kind of player, I mean, I see the shadow of multiple different Hall of Famers in his game.
So far this season, Morant has averaged 27.6 points, 6.7 assists and 5.7 rebounds per game, which is also able to lead the Grizzlies to the top record in the league and be named to the 2022 All-Star Team.
On the other hand, Kyrie Irving can still only play away games for the Nets, and even Irving may have a hard time returning to the home game. According to New York Mayor Eric Adams, New York City's epidemic rules will not change anytime soon:
In simple terms, it is unknown when Irving will make his Nets home debut this season, and for the Nets, if Irving still can't play in the home game, then they won't have a chance to storm the championship trophy.
Finally, former Nets coach Tom Barris reportedly died of cancer at the age of 68:
