Re-examination form and arrangement

According to the document requirements of the Ministry of Education and the current needs of epidemic prevention and control in Beijing, the re-examination of Peking University's 2021 graduate school enrollment will be carried out by means of online remote re-examination. According to the basic score line and related requirements of the 2021 master's degree admissions re-examination of Peking University and the proportion of the difference in the re-examination determined by the Law School, the candidates in the list attached to this notice (see Annex 1 for details) can participate in the re-examination, and the Law School will no longer issue a notice of re-examination, and candidates with re-examination qualifications are requested to conduct qualification examination and participate in the re-examination in accordance with the following provisions.

1. Re-examination application

1. According to the regulations of the Graduate School, the Law School conducts a qualification review for candidates during the re-examination stage, and the re-examination candidates must submit:

(1) "Registration Form for Master's Degree Candidates" (registered candidates log on to the Peking University Research and Recruitment Network https//admission.pku.edu.cn to download and print);

(2) Personal statement (log on to the Peking University Research and Recruitment Network to download and print);

(3) A copy of the valid ID card (front and back printed on a page of A4 paper);

(4) The original official transcript of the undergraduate stage;

(5) A copy of the graduation certificate and degree certificate (fresh graduates are copies of student CARDS, and those holding degree certificates outside the country (territory) must submit the original certification report issued by the Study Abroad Service Center of the Ministry of Education);

(6) Other materials that can reflect the candidate's scientific research ability and potential;

(7) Candidates who meet the requirements of the Ministry of Education's "2021 National Regulations on the Administration of Admissions for Master's Degree Students" to enjoy the corresponding bonus points policy need to submit a written application to the admissions department and submit relevant supporting materials.

Note: The above 1-5 items are required, and items 6 and 7 are submitted by candidates according to their actual situation.

Candidates who do not meet the application requirements will not be admitted.

Candidates are responsible for the authenticity and accuracy of all application materials submitted. Upon admission, the Law School will also conduct a further review of the candidate's identity and qualifications. For the declaration of false or inaccurate materials and other violations of the discipline of the admissions examination, at any time once discovered, our school will cancel its re-examination or admission qualifications; if it has obtained the admission qualification or student status, our school will cancel its enrollment qualification or student status in accordance with the Ministry of Education's "Measures for the Handling of Violations of the National Education Examination".

The submission time is from the date of publication of the re-examination list to 17:00 on March 24, 2021. If all application materials are not submitted by the deadline, it will be deemed that the re-examination qualification is automatically abandoned (if the application materials are mailed, the application materials shall be delivered before the above time).

Second, re-examination

1. Re-examination time: March 29-30, 2021 according to the major, the specific interview time is detailed in Annex 2. Candidates are requested to pay attention to the email/SMS notification and log in to the conference platform 30 minutes in advance to prepare accordingly.

2. Re-examination format: Remote video interview is adopted for each major. The remote video interview uniformly uses the "Tencent Conference" online conference platform, and the interview work is completed through the candidate's remote, interview teacher and secretary are gathered in the law school conference room for network connection.

3. Re-examination content: including professional ability interview and foreign language ability assessment. By answering the interview teacher's questions, candidates examine the candidate's mastery of subject expertise, as well as comprehensive abilities such as Chinese and English language expression and logical thinking. The score of the interview assessment is based on a 100-point system, with 60 points passing.

4． Preparation before the exam [Important, please read carefully]

(1) Candidates must prepare a relatively closed, quiet, and brightly lit interview place in advance, as well as 2 related devices with camera functions (smartphones and computers that can download and run the specified video conferencing platform), wired headphones with microphones (wireless headphones are not allowed), external cameras, microphones, etc., and test the network environment. The main examination room uses a "dual camera position" for interview, the first camera in front of the camera to ensure that the candidate's head and hands can be photographed, and the second camera in the rear of the side to ensure that the candidate himself, the examination environment and the examination screen (as shown in the following figure) can be photographed from the rear of the side during the video interview, please ensure that the second camera device will not interfere with the interview. The second camera device is only used to monitor the exam environment.

Note: It is recommended to use a computer in the first camera position in front and a mobile phone or laptop in the second camera position in the rear of the side; if you use a mobile phone for an interview (whether it is the first camera position or the second camera position), you must handle the call transfer in advance to avoid the re-examination process being interrupted by incoming calls and affecting the interview results. At the same time, candidates need to ensure that the mobile phone number filled in when applying for the examination is unblocked, so that the examination staff can make emergency contact. The mobile phone filled in during the examination shall be used as an emergency contact, shall not be used as an interview equipment, and shall not interfere with the interview process.

(2) Candidates should join the conference according to the conference ID or conference link received in the email/SMS, and join the meeting with their real name + camera position 1/position 2.

(3) On the day of the video interview, candidates must bring the original ID card with them for identity verification. In addition, candidates are required to download and print the "Commitment to Integrity Re-examination" (see Attachment 4) and "Interview Confirmation" (see Annex 5) in advance, prepare a black signature pen, and sign and display it as required during the video interview.

(4) Except for their identity documents, commitment letters, and confirmations, it is strictly forbidden to store any books and materials related to the content of the test and other electronic devices with inquiry functions in front of and around the candidates.

(5) Before the exam, our institute will also organize a remote interview conference system test to familiarize candidates with the use of the re-examination platform. Please pay attention to the email notification for the specific time.

5. Interview Process:

There is a waiting room in the video interview venue, please wait patiently and operate according to the instructions and requirements.

(1) Candidates 1 and 2 wait in the waiting room, and the secretary checks the list of candidates present and signs in;

(2) The secretary allows the candidate to enter the venue in 1 machine position, and the interview team leader introduces the interview team members, announces the discipline and interview process of the examination room, and announces the order of the candidates' appearance;

(3) The secretary will move the candidates back to the waiting room, and the candidates will start the interview in order after the 1 and 2 machine positions are ready;

(4) The secretary allows the candidates to enter the venue at the same time in the 1 and 2 camera positions, the secretary verifies the identity of the candidates, and the candidates sign the "Commitment to Integrity Re-examination" and display;

(5) Candidates should start the interview according to the requirements of the interview team leader;

(6) After the candidate has answered, according to the requirements of the interview team leader, sign the "Interview Confirmation" on the spot and display it;

(7) After the completion of the above process, the candidates will exit the conference system in the 1 and 2 camera positions, and the interview will end.

6. Submissions at the end of the re-examination:

3. Admission

1. The Faculty of Law will select the candidates based on their overall grades. Those who fail the interview will not be initially selected. Those who pass the interview will be admitted in descending order according to the candidate's total score, and the admission will be up to the specified amount.

2. Calculation of total grades:

Total score = (Sum of the four scores in the initial examination÷5×60%) + (Professional ability interview score ×40%)

The total score is 100 points. Among them, the preliminary examination score of the graduate school entrance examination accounts for 60% of the 100 points, and the re-examination score accounts for 40% of the 100 points.
