Guo Xunqi was ordered to pursue the Red Army, and Liu Xiang gave him the opportunity to stay on the front line and see each other in the future

author:Liu Yishan

In 1931, Guo Xunqi surrounded and suppressed the Red Army everywhere, but Liu Xiang advised him: Be a man and stay on the front line, and see each other in the future. At that time, Guo Xunqi did not know the gold content of this sentence. Years later, he understood this sentence and gave himself a way to live.

The Sichuan army in the Republic of China was indeed very capable of fighting, but the problem was that the war was somewhat reckless and the discipline was relatively bad. Later, Liu Xiang had a hard time solving this problem, and under his leadership, these Soldiers of the Sichuan Army knew that they would not win victory by doing nothing but doing so, and everyone had to find a way to use their brains to fight.

Liu Xiang was also a party Haojie, born in a martial arts family, and later became the king of Sichuan. Because of Liu Xiang's high prestige in Sichuan, Chiang Kai-shek was very troubled. This unit only listened to Liu Xiang and did not listen to his boss of the central government. In his mind, these warlords were as terrible as the Red Army, and they were the targets he wanted to destroy.

Under the guidance of this ideology, arranging for the Sichuan Army and the Red Army to fight a hard-hitting battle is the most appropriate strategy. In order to prevent Liu Xiang from failing to work, he also specifically explained in his order: It is necessary to arrange elite troops to pursue the Red Army, and we must not slacken off. This blocked all his retreats for Liu Xiang.

After thinking about it for a long time, Liu Xiang summoned Guo Xunqi and ordered him to take the elite troops of three brigades to encircle and suppress the Red Army. Guo Xunqi himself was Liu Xiang's man, and naturally there would be no hesitation after receiving the order. But who knew that Liu Xiang called Guo Xunqi to the secret room that night, and the two talked for a long time.

Liu Xiang said: In the mind of the chairman of the COMMITTEE, perhaps we are even more terrible than the Red Army. Once the Red Army has been packed, it will inevitably be our turn next. Looking at Guo Xunqi's incomprehensible eyes, Liu Xiang continued to add: If the Red Army is really wiped out, then the next person to be stabbed must be the Sichuan Army. Think about the birds in history, good bow hiding.

Liu Xiang's words awakened Guo Xunqi, who knew that his trip to encircle and suppress the Red Army was fake, and that the drama was true, and he must find a way to leave a way for the Red Army to live. It is necessary not only to make a posture of desperate encirclement and suppression, but also to retain the strength of the Sichuan army, and resolutely not to exhaust their own troops by Chiang Kai-shek's orders.

In order to urge Guo Xunqi to march quickly, Chiang Kai-shek had been sending commissioners to follow the Sichuan army, repeatedly urging him to immediately engage the Red Army, but Guo Xunqi ignored it. At present, the Sichuan army has enough grain and grass, but the main force of the Red Army is sleepy and short of horses, and if Guo Xunqi makes up his mind to catch up with all his strength, there is no reason why he will not be able to catch up. But under his deliberate delay, the two sides always maintained more than twenty miles.

Guo Xunqi knew very well that the Red Army must not be forced to a dead end, otherwise it would be a battle in which the fish died and the net was broken. If the Red Army turns over one day, will Guo Xunqi and even the entire Sichuan army have a good life? Therefore, on the way to the army, it seemed that Guo Xunqi was full of arrogance, but in fact he had no intention of seriously fighting.

But no matter how much it was avoided, small groups of troops on both sides were still encountered. The soldiers in the front did not understand Guo Xunqi's thoughts, and launched an attack on the Red Army, and the two sides fought for a while, and then Zhu De personally went into battle, and then put himself into the reserve before repelling the Sichuan army.

This battle brought Guo Xunqi to the chagrin. When he led his troops into the county seat of Tucheng, although he received information that the main force of the Red Army had returned to the red water bank, he used the excuse that the troops were too tired and stayed in Tucheng and could not leave. From that time on, Guo Xunqi's pursuit became more and more careful, always separated from the Red Army at a long distance. Where this is the chase, this is simply a farewell.

Chiang Kai-shek's side was mad, but Liu Xiang thought that Guo Xunqi had made meritorious efforts in suppressing bandits, and made him a model division commander. Since Chiang Kai-shek could not grasp the handle of Guo Xunqi's failure to work, he could only break his teeth and swallow into his stomach.

But it was this Guo Xunqi who did not contribute to the work that hit the Japanese after the Japanese devils invaded China. In other words, the Sichuan army does not want to fight a civil war, they hope that the whole country will work together to drive the Japanese devils out of China, which is the persistence in the hearts of every Sichuan army officer.

It was precisely because the Sichuan army led by Guo Xunqi spared the Red Army and left a retreat for itself. On the anti-Japanese battlefield, the Sichuan Army and our army cooperated many times, blowing up a large number of Japanese bridges and lines of communication. In April 1938, Guo Xunqi also gave the New Fourth Army 30,000 rounds of ammunition and 1,000 sets of brand-new uniforms.

Unfortunately, Liu Xiang died of illness soon, and the great Sichuan army completely lost its main heart. Guo Xunqi had fought well on the battlefield, but he was dismissed from all posts by Chiang Kai-shek's order, and his dream of resisting the country was also ruined.

Later, Guo Xunqi continued to propagate communist policies, and Chiang Kai-shek at that time did not admit defeat and wanted to treat the southwest region as his rear. But with the efforts of Guo Xunqi and others, Chengdu was finally liberated peacefully. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Guo Xunqi served as a member of the Sichuan Provincial People's Government, a deputy to the Provincial People's Congress and other important positions, and died in 1959 and was buried in Chengdu.
