At today's State of Play launch, Avalanche Software brought a 14-minute live demo of Hogwarts Legacy, a detailed look at the game, and announced that it would be released in the late 2022 holidays.
This game is expected to land on the PS4/PS5/PC/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S platform.
Hogwarts Legacy is dated to the 19th century and begins with a Hogwarts 5th grader taking magical classes such as Defence Against the Dark Arts, Herbology, taming magical animals, fighting with spells, and more.
The protagonist will be slightly more famous when he or she first enters the school because he/she survives an event. In class, players will meet and make friends with a group of talented wizards, as well as special lessons to keep up with other fifth-graders.
According to the video's plot description, the protagonist goes with the mysterious Professor Fig to find out if the rumors of the elven rebellion are true and whether Hogwarts is safe.
The video shows the Sorting Hat session, where the protagonist can fly on a broomstick and a sphinx. Dungeons and secret passages will also be found in the castle, allowing access to the House of Requirement.
In the Room of Requirement, the protagonist can plant, concoct magic potions, upgrade equipment, etc., and can freely customize this space and even garden. There will be a house-elf named Deek to help with the care.
Players can gain experience by completing challenges and puzzles from around the world, thus upgrading their abilities.
