Yesterday a friend asked me to talk about the relationship between Pingzheng and Danger, mainly because of some of Zeng Xiang's remarks! Zeng Xiang said in his own remarks, what I am pursuing now is danger! I dare not agree with this, to put it bluntly, in my opinion, what he is currently pursuing is not sinister, but skewed!
Let me first give you an example, I believe that everyone will have some understanding after reading it. Due to the development of the mainland's economic construction in recent years, the problem of people's food and clothing has been basically solved, and the problems related to food, clothing, shelter, and transportation have been solved. Let me when I was young, the conditions of the family are not very good, we all know that the purpose of wearing clothes is to keep out the cold, when we have no clothes to think about having a piece of clothing to wear, but after having clothes, we will think about how to wear clean and tidy and generous; when we wear neat and generous, we also need to dress properly, how to color matching to look better. When we gradually grow older and have more experience, we know that a person's clothes are only appearances, we pay more attention to the cultivation of the heart, but do not make too many requirements for clothes, can be neat and generous. But in life, in order to attract the attention of others, some people deliberately wear revealing and deliberately dress strange clothes; some wear clothes that are inconsistent with their age and identity in order to make themselves younger. In fact, this is just a hobby, not a real norm for dressing. The result? The correct dressing collocation makes people look comfortable and beautiful, and wearing revealing, strange clothes or old and tender clothes can only make people disgusted, because they violate people's normal aesthetics. Let's go back to the words "flat" and "dangerous" to see if the above example is related to these two words.
In terms of calligraphy, in fact, most calligraphers quote a sentence from the Tang Dynasty Sun Guoting's "Book Genealogy": the distribution of beginners, but the pursuit of peace. Knowing that it is fair, it is imperative to pursue danger. It can be dangerous and return to peace. I think this sentence is very reasonable, but due to different personal understandings, many people at present deliberately distort the facts, distort the original intention of Sun Guoting, and regard the danger as a crooked view, which is very dialectical. I have talked about the words "ugly rather than flattering" in the early stage, and I have also talked about the words of high and widowhood and elegant appreciation, which are actually just a fig leaf for some people. It is a very ridiculous act for them to justify their ugly books by maliciously distorting the meaning of these words, and to make excuses.
A child naughty did a bad thing, the parents have not yet criticized a word, the child said, I am naughty is my right, is my personality, the book says that everyone should be equal, you as a parent can not criticize the child at will, after all, you are not a child, you do not understand my ideas. Right? This sentence seems to make sense, but at the same time as saying these words, the child forgets that he did bad things when he was naughty, and this is a fact. So the end result is definitely going to be spanked. In fact, the advocates of the ugly book and the children have the same mind, and after they have done bad things, they still say that we do not understand him, that is his personality, and they can also quote the scriptures to defend themselves. But they insulted calligraphy and violated the laws of Chinese character writing, which in itself is an act of destroying tradition, but he thought about it, any ancient person said that calligraphy can exist without Chinese characters, right? This in itself is a fact, whose ass doesn't spank their ass?
So how should we view the meaning of the words "fairness" and "danger"? Let's first look at the meaning of these two words: what is Pingzheng? Pingzheng is horizontal and vertical, square and square, which is the realm of beginners pursuing writing; Sun Guoting naturally knows this truth, so there is a beginner distribution, but seek pingzheng. We know that a child who can't write must write carefully and formally at the beginning, the size should be consistent, and the distribution should be uniform, so as to give people a neat feeling, which is the most basic requirement. We can't just come up and paint randomly. Therefore, it is a very normal sentence to learn but seek peace and integrity.
So what if you know that you are in peace and integrity, you must chase after danger? In fact, everyone can think about it and know that if you are only satisfied with being able to write and be able to express your thoughts, it is enough to be upright. In order to reflect that the writing is good and the words are more beautiful, each of us, on the basis of learning to write, thinks about how to match the layout and space of our calligraphy, how to construct the strokes, and how to write, so that we can make our works more beautiful, so there is a danger. We say that this kind of danger is based on the difference in each person's daily writing, and reflects his own style, his own knot. And it is not the clumsiness of some people, and the poor strokes and structures written like children are dangerous? Non also! That's just crooked.
So what if it can be eliminated and returned to normal? This is actually a realm of calligraphy, a kind of thought. There is a saying called ordinary seeing the truth. Practicing calligraphy is like being a person, when you are young, you don't understand things, so you practice words honestly; when you are young, you are full of spirit, so you reveal your personality everywhere; when you are old, you see through the red dust, there is no dispute with the world, and you return to the realm of honesty. From the simple and ordinary strokes, the brushwork, chapters and layout are integrated, in order to be exquisite in the ordinary, and the brilliance is introverted.
In fact, we know that philosophically speaking, pingzheng and dangerous are a relative relationship, there is no pingzheng, let alone talk about danger, no danger, where is the pingzheng? The two are mutually reinforcing. In a calligraphy work, there must be danger and there must be peace, and there must be danger. Just like the mountains and the sea, the mountains are dangerous, but for the flat earth, there must be flat canyons in the peaks; the sea is flat, that is for the seabed and the mountains, and the reefs and waves must also be dangerous.
Finally, let's go back to Zeng Xiang, who is actually very much related to his calligraphy style and his personality. When he was young, Zeng Xiang's writing was still decent, his hard pen line was also relatively good, and the brush had the style of Rice Fu, but due to personality problems, he later went astray. Just like a person who is full of spirit when he is young, wants to do a career, only to find that the rules and regulations are ignored, so he has another way, wanting to attract everyone's attention in this way, and wanting to stand out. Therefore, his remarks are more extreme, and there is an anti-traditional, anti-trend, and personality-promoting line of thought, because the direction is wrong, so it leads to a lot of criticism. Just like the example of dressing that I talked about at the beginning, I originally dressed more standardly and looked good, and wanted to win everyone's cheers, but in fact, the norms were so good that I ignored his existence, but what if I wanted to be famous? Only come to some strange costumes, at least you can find some sense of presence, and experience the feeling of being concerned. Every time I think about it, I sigh!
