"Shi Tingting" has been more active since childhood, unlike other girls, she does not love dolls, she loves to climb up and down like boys, very naughty.
Therefore, when she was three or four years old, she was sent by her parents to practice gymnastics, and "Shi Tingting" was also very talented in the practice of gymnastics, and she was selected as an amateur athlete when she was 5 years old.
At that time, the situation was that Chongqing had just become a municipality directly under the central government, and the gymnastics project had to set up a provincial-level professional team, so it was necessary to expand on the basis of the original municipal level.
There are coaches who go to kindergartens to select outstanding young seedlings (because gymnasts basically have to produce results in their teens), and "Shi Tingting" is selected.
If this trend continues to develop, perhaps "Shi Tingting" will also become a very good gymnast, but because Chongqing Municipality was just under the direct administration at that time, many things were uncertain.
For example, the newly established Chongqing Gymnastics Team (provincial level) that "Shi Tingting" entered was disbanded in 1998, and the original team members were selected in advance by many provincial teams or went to other sports.
"Shi Tingting" gymnastics enlightenment coach Zhang Yulan was assigned to the diving team, she felt that "Shi Tingting" is a good seedling for practicing sports, even if it is from gymnastics to diving, it can still be very good, so she brought the 8-year-old "Shi Tingting" to the diving team.
After "Shi Tingting" changed to diving, her parents felt that this name was not very compatible with diving, so grandpa checked the dictionary to rename "Shi Tingting" to "Shi Tingmao".
The meaning of the name: "Ting" is the meaning of the country, "Mao" refers to hard work, and the overall meaning of "Tingmao" is to hope that Shi Tingmao will strive to contribute to the country.
It can be said that the change from "Shi Tingting" to "Shi Tingmao" is entirely because of the sport of diving, and from the name of Shi Tingmao, it can also be seen that Shi Tingmao's family has expectations for Shi Tingmao after engaging in diving.
However, Shi Tingmao's diving path is very bumpy, but her efforts have made her finally successful.

When practicing gymnastics, Shi Tingmao has long hair, sometimes a double ponytail, and wears a floral skirt to be a very delicate looking little girl.
However, after practicing diving, Shi Tingmao cut his hair into short hair, turned into a "tomboy", cut his hair short, and then put on a T-shirt and shorts, and he was handsome.
Shi Tingmao, who had just arrived at the diving team, was a "dry duck" who couldn't even swim, but she was proud that it only took her 10 minutes to learn to swim.
At that time, the coach took the rope and threw Shi Tingmao into the pool, so Shi Tingmao quickly learned to swim.
But swimming is easy to learn, diving is more difficult, Shi Tingmao first practice diving standing on the 3-meter board completely dare not jump down, and finally in the coach's sharp eyes hard scalp jumped down.
For other children, this age is still the age of lying in the arms of their parents, but Shi Tingmao is in contact with each other day after day in the diving hall.
Once, during her training, her front teeth were mostly knocked off by her knees, but with a stubborn force, Shi Tingmao did not cry.
In fact, at this time, Shi Tingmao did not understand what career and future, she was not happy every day, but forced by the teaching of her parents and strict coaches, she had to learn new movements every day, day after day of training.
Hard work always pays off, and although Shi Tingmao is not very happy, her talent is very high and she is very hardworking, so she soon made her debut in the Chongqing diving team.
However, because of the direct administration of Chongqing Municipality at that time, many facilities were not very perfect, especially the diving team was relatively weak in the provincial diving teams.
Because around 2000, Shi Tingmao was brought to the Diving Team of Tsinghua University by his mentor Zhang Yunlan, and the strength of the Diving Team of Tsinghua University at that time was completely comparable to that of the national team.
Because Yu Fen, the head coach of the diving team of Tsinghua University, was once the deputy head coach of the Chinese diving national team, and the diving queen Fu Mingxia was her personal disciple.
There are also players like Lau Lishi, He Zi and others who came out of the Tsinghua University diving team, but at that time, yu Fen, the head coach of the Tsinghua University diving team, and Zhou Jihong, the actual speaker of the Chinese national diving team, had a very stiff relationship, and at that time, there were also many things that caused heated discussion.

Shi Tingmao was only less than 10 years old when she entered the diving team of Tsinghua University, but she had to leave her hometown and parents to train in Beijing's Tsinghua Garden, which she was not familiar with.
However, the training of the diving team of Tsinghua University is very hard, the implementation of the combination of sports and education, diving team members in the morning and all students normal class, afternoon training in the diving hall, evening as usual in the classroom evening self-study.
So Shi Tingmao had almost no time to miss her family, only a pillow that her mother bought for her, which she always carried with her, and she would sleep with this pillow every night.
The family is very worried about Shi Tingmao, often call her to ask for warmth, but when the phone calls, Shi Tingmao will always say that everything is fine when he dives at Tsinghua University.
I usually have no difficulties, there are doctors in the team, there is food to eat, but also to comfort the family not to worry, at a young age, I know that the good news is not to report the worry.
But everyone in the family knows that Shi Tingmao is alone over there, even if the welfare treatment in the team is good, it is better to stay in his own home, but the daughter does not say, the parents are not there, after all, they also know that although it is hard, this is all for the future of the daughter.
In this way, Shi Tingmao has been training at Tsinghua University for nearly 8 years or so, and her level is very good among athletes of the same age group.
At the 2008 National Diving Championships, Shi Tingmao won the third place in the three-meter board (the champion was her partner Wang Han in the double 3 meter board at the Tokyo Olympic Games), proving that her strength belongs to the top level in the country.
As Shi Tingmao said in the diving team of Tsinghua University, Yu Fen: "I think Shi Tingmao is an all-round athlete, with good strength in various sports, she can play her own characteristics to the fullest, and she is also an athlete with very solid basic skills."
But the 17-year-old Shi Tingmao has not been able to enter the national team, and Chen Ruolin, who is still a year younger, has won two gold medals in the women's singles 10 meters and the women's doubles 10 boards at the Beijing Olympic Games.
The reason why Tingmao has not been able to enter the national team is not because her level is not good, but because there is too much resentment between Yu Fen, head coach of the Tsinghua University diving team, and Zhou Jihong, the leader of the Chinese national diving team.

Zhou Jihong is China's first diving Olympic champion (1984 Los Angeles Olympics), and Yu Fen took zhou Jihong with her when she was still in the provincial team.
After winning the championship, Zhou Jihong retired shortly after, continued to complete his studies, got married and had children, and Yu Fen entered the national team step by step because of his excellent directing talent and eventually served as the deputy head coach of the national team, bringing out a large number of Olympic champions such as Fu Mingxia, Xiong Qingqing, and Lau Lishi.
But after the 1996 Olympic Games, the performance of the Chinese diving team declined all the way, and the team once faced disbandment.
At this time, some leaders found Zhou Jihong and hoped that she would lead the formation of a new national training team, and the leaders also promised that although Zhou Jihong was only the leader, she would be the real speaker of the entire national diving team.
After the establishment of the new national diving team, the original deputy head coach Yu Fen was not in the ranks of the coaching staff, which made Yu Fen very unhappy, after all, she was known as China's "diving godmother".
Unwillingly, she went to Tsinghua University to form a diving team, and Dayou and Zhou Jihong opposed her intentions, and also publicly reported Zhou Jihong's corruption.
Yu Fen's purpose in doing so is to return to the national team to coach, but Zhou Jihong firmly disagrees, so the relationship between the two is bound to become a fire.
This also involves the addition of double competitions to the diving event after the Sydney Olympics, and they are reluctant to compete with each other's disciples, and they all think that their respective disciples are strong.
Therefore, in those years, first the national team recruited the athletes of the Diving Team of Tsinghua University, Yu Fen did not let anyone go, and then the members of Tsinghua University wanted to participate in international competitions, and the national team did not give a quota.
Therefore, Shi Tingmao's excellent results at the age of 17 still could not enter the national team, and in 2008, Shi Tingmao chose to return to the Chongqing team to continue training.
Shi Tingmao, who returned to the Chongqing team, still failed to enter the national team, because at that time, Shi Tingmao could only do 107C on a 3-meter board (forward churning 3 weeks and a half knees), and the action coefficient was 0.3 lower than others.
To enter the national team, you must conquer the 107B, and after returning to the Chongqing team, Shi Tingmao and her coach at the time, Liu Ben, made great efforts for this.
In 2009, Shi Tingmao won the bronze medal on the women's one-meter board at the National Championships.
In the final of the women's doubles three-meter board at the 2010 Asian Games in Guangzhou, Shi Tingmao and his partner won the championship with an absolute advantage of 35.70 points over the second place, and then won the silver medal in the women's singles 3m board.
In 2011, Shi Tingmao hit the 107B with a difficulty factor of 3.1 at the National Diving Championships, but it was not ideal, and finally won the third place in the women's single 3m board.
However, this result allowed Shi Tingmao to win a place in the women's one-meter board of the Shanghai World Championships, and she became the first athlete in Chongqing's history to participate in the diving event of the World Championships in two years.

But even with such efforts, she still can't enter the national team, and 21 years old is already an older age for a diver, after all, Fu Mingxia won the Olympic championship at the age of 12.
So in those days, Shi Tingmao really thought about retiring, after all, her goal has always been to go to the Olympic Games, and when she missed the 2012 Olympic Games, she doubted whether she was really incompetent and thought about retiring in 2013.
Fortunately, at the 2012 National Diving Championships, Shi Tingmao not only won the women's one-meter board and the women's all-around event, but also won two silver medals in the women's three-meter board and the women's double three-meter board.
The main thing is that Shi Tingmao finally conquered the 107B, and thus successfully selected for the national diving team.

At the 2012 London Olympics, Wu Minxia won the women's single 3m board championship in diving, and at the same time partnered with He Zi to win the women's double 3m board.
At that time, Wu Minxia deserved to be a sister of the Chinese diving team, which is what we call the "diving queen", but Wu Minxia, who was born in 1985, has participated in three Olympic Games and is already 27 years old.
He Zi was the most optimistic next "diving queen" at that time, she was one year older than Shi Tingmao, but she entered the country 6 years earlier than Shi Tingmao, and has always been regarded as "Guo Jingjing's successor".
However, in a series of competitions that followed, Shi Tingmao slowly showed his level and began to partner with his sister Wu Minxia since 2013.
In 2013, Wu Minxia and Shi Tingmao won the World Championships double three-meter board championship, while Shi Tingmao also won the women's individual all-around championship and the women's three-meter board runner-up at the National Games in the same year.
2014 was a crucial year for Shi Tingmao's career, when she won the Women's Singles 3m Board Championship at the World Cup, then the Women's 1M Board Championship at the Incheon Asian Games, and the Women's 3m Board Championship with her partner Wu Minxia.
With his outstanding performance in 2014, Shi Tingmao was successfully shortlisted for the 2012 CCTV Sports Figure, allowing more people to know himself and proving that his strength is also one of the best in the Chinese diving team.

After the Rio Olympics, Shi Tingmao became the new leader of the Chinese diving team, and is the fifth generation diving queen after Gao Min, Fu Mingxia, Guo Jingjing and Fu Mingxia.
And throughout the Tokyo Olympic cycle, Shi Tingmao won almost all the championships she participated in, until she won two gold medals again at the Tokyo Olympics.
