The painter, calligrapher and seal engraver Lai Shaoqi was Xiao Yin's revolutionary comrade-in-arms throughout his life. He once wrote the title of Xiao Yin's work, and after Xiao Yin's death, he wrote an inscription for Xiao Yin's statue.

Lai Shaoqi himself was very fond of seal engraving and was a member of the Xiling Printing Society. He admired Hongzheng's seal carving anecdotes very much, and once wrote an inscription for Hongzheng's "Wangyuelou Seal Collection" (below):

Xiao Yin once introduced Hongzheng to carving two idle seals for Lai Shaoqi, one side was "Iron Stone" and the other was "Jin Rong".

In 1982, when Lai Shaoqi was in Changsha, Hunan Province, Hongzheng carved the above-mentioned two-party idle seal and personally gave it to Lai Shaoqi.

Hongzheng mentioned these two chapters in a letter to Xiao Yin on July 12, 1982

In a letter to Xiao Yin on July 12, 1982 (pictured above), Hongzheng mentioned the two seals: "It was day and night that the seals of the two parties were engraved for Lai Lao, because he was going to set off early the next morning, and he was satisfied with his life."

Hongzheng is Lai Shao's carved two-party idle chapter "Iron Stone" and "Jin Rong"

The seals of these two idle chapters were included in Hongzheng's book "Modern Writers and Artists' Prints".

Lai Shaoqi later used this "iron stone" medallion (below) in his paintings.

Lai Shaoqi (1915-2000), a native of Puning City, Guangdong Province, was one of the leaders of the Chinese contemporary painting scene, known as the "Sage of the Art World" and known as the "Chinese Painter" in Japan. His original technique of "pressing black with white" made him the main founder of the new Emblem school of printmaking.

After liberation, he successively served as the secretary of the party group of the East China Artists Association, the chairman of the Anhui Provincial Artists Association, the vice chairman of the China Plate Painters Association, the vice chairman of the Shanghai Artists Association, the honorary vice chairman of the Guangdong Artists Association, and the vice chairman of the Anhui Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference. Mr. Lai Shaoqi is an outstanding revolutionary literary and art fighter, and a famous master of calligraphy and painting in contemporary China. Hangzhou Xiling Printing Society ShanChuan Yulu Library before there is a "Stone Pavilion", which was built in 1912 by Ye Weiming, one of the founders of Xiling Printing Society, and is one of the buildings in the initial period of Xiling Printing Society.
