The reporter learned from the Hangzhou West Lake Scenic Area Urban Management guarantee center that the Beishan Street (Geling Road West Exit - Broken Bridge) block uses new materials and new processes to carry out the pilot work of high-tough and ultra-thin asphalt wear layer, which has now been completed.
"Ultra-thin" asphalt is only 1.5 cm thick!
Compared with the thickness of the traditional asphalt wear layer of 4-5cm, the lifting project adopts high-tough and ultra-thin asphalt, and the thickness of the wear layer is only 1.5cm.
The ultra-thin surface layer can effectively reduce the loss of traffic to the road and improve the service life of the road. And the new material has superior crack resistance, anti-seepage performance, crack resistance is much higher than the traditional wear layer, excellent waterproof performance can prevent rain from eroding the asphalt pavement to the greatest extent, reduce road potholes and "patch" construction.
In addition, the special ratio of the material used in the high toughness and ultra-thin asphalt wear layer makes the asphalt have high viscosity characteristics, effectively improves the flatness of the road surface, reduces the driving noise by 3-7 decibels, and greatly improves the driving comfort.
The construction area of 12,000 square meters was completed overnight
Beishan Street (Geling Road West Exit - Broken Bridge) is only two lanes, in order to minimize the impact on citizens and tourists, to avoid asphalt milling caused by noise disturbance, dust and road traffic problems, the scenic area urban management center scientific co-ordination, reasonable planning of the construction period, to maximize the compression of road closure construction time.
In the early stage, the staff upgraded the manhole cover, leveled according to the transformed road level, laid the surface layer on the intersections such as the Xinxin Hotel, Geling Bus Station and the Party History Museum, and disposed of local diseases, making full preparations for laying "ultra-thin masks".
In the early morning of March 9, Beishan Street was closed for construction, and the scenic urban management center gathered more than 130 construction personnel and 9 municipal equipment, and overnight, it took only 6 hours to complete the surface laying of the 12,000-square-meter test section, and the recovery of follow-up traffic markings, and successfully resumed traffic before the morning rush hour.
