The masters assemble the bodywork, and 16 engineering structures will be transformed into sculptural artworks

The transformation of engineering structures such as subway wind wells from the master into sculptural artworks is an attempt to renovate and rebuild the worker's body. On March 10th, the "Landscape Sketch" concept design kick-off meeting of the northeast plot of the Beijing Workers' Stadium Renovation and Rehabilitation Project was held, and five well-known domestic design masters will carry out the "sketch" architectural creation, transform the 16 engineering structures outside the site, and create a high-quality urban space.

Renderings of new worker bodies

At the construction site of the worker's body, a busy scene came into view. At present, the football stadium is sprinting construction of the steel structure of the canopy, which is scheduled to end in the first quarter, and the mechanical and electrical installation and other processes are also steadily advancing. The transformed workers' stadium will be transformed from a comprehensive stadium into a world-class professional football stadium, and with this as the core, it will be built into an open and wallless urban public space. In addition to the sports function, the workers' stadium will also build a new sunken commercial space and become a comprehensive consumption carrier.

The northeast plot where the concept design of the "landscape sketch" is located is an important space that carries functions such as fitness and leisure, consumer entertainment and so on. However, in the midst of the green space, 16 indispensable engineering structures are exposed to the ground, which is more abrupt and difficult to integrate with the surrounding landscape. Can the so-called "negative space" be turned into a highlight of urban design? With such reverse thinking, the concept design of "landscape sketches" was officially launched, and Zhu Xiaodi, a national first-class registered architect, Hu Yue, Zhang Li, Li Xinggang, a national engineering survey and design master, and Wang Hui, a professor-level senior architect, participated in the creation of a pilot project for "sketch" architecture.

The design master site survey

It is understood that the 16 structures mainly include subway wind pavilions, air ducts, wind wells and fire elevators, etc., with different heights and different scales. "These 16 structures are all located in the greenery, and it is hoped that they will be cleverly integrated with the existing landscape." The person in charge of the landscape of Sinobo Workers' Stadium introduced the existing scheme of landscape design of the northeast plot in detail and gave suggestions for the transformation of the foundation. After comprehensive consideration, the premise of the design and transformation is not to affect the function of the structure itself, but it does not affect the line of sight looking at the worker's body, and at the same time meets the load conditions of the site, and finally transforms the structure into a sculptural artwork with an artistic and modern sense.

According to reports, March 10 to April 15 is the program design stage of the five design masters. After the results are submitted, the organizer will review the plan and strive to enter the in-depth design stage in late April. On the basis of gathering the strengths of all, the beijing architectural design and research institute co., LTD. will finally complete the comprehensive plan.

It is reported that the concept design of the "landscape sketch" in the northeast plot of the work-body transformation and rehabilitation project is one of the special activities of "Building Beijing Color Masters to Do Sketches" launched by the Municipal Planning and Self-Government Commission. Shi Weiliang, deputy director of the Municipal Planning and Self-Government Commission, said that he hopes to collect more opinions and suggestions through the activity of "master making sketches" of the workers' sports project, attract more designers and architects not only to pay attention to the planning and construction of major projects, but also to pay more attention to small projects that are closely related to the citizens, and use "embroidery" to create high-quality urban spaces and enhance the sense of gain, happiness and satisfaction of the citizens.
