In this equipment verification, the United Nations dispatched a total of 10 equipment verification staff from different countries to group 10 items of the detachment's medical equipment, weapons and ammunition, vehicle equipment, communication equipment, and living facilities into categories, and then checked the accounts one by one, and randomly selected equipment for on-site demonstration to comprehensively test the ability of the Chinese peacekeeping medical detachment to carry out its tasks.

During the inspection, Fares Agata, the equipment verification team leader of the United Nations Mission in South Sudan (UNMISS), praised: "All the members of the Chinese peacekeeping medical detachment are full of spirit, the camp environment is clean, the cultural and sports activities are complete, the equipment is running well, and it can fully complete the medical support tasks entrusted by the United Nations." ”

Equipment verification is a comprehensive United Nations assessment of equipment and facilities provided by troop-contributing countries on a regular basis under the Memorandum of Understanding and serves as the fundamental basis for the United Nations to provide financial compensation to troop-contributing countries.

The 12th batch of China's peacekeeping medical detachment to South Sudan (Wau) is mainly composed of the 985th Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force. Since the handover in December last year, the medical detachment has received 285 patients, treated 13 inpatients, performed two emergency pre-pick-up and airlift medical evacuations, and performed two general anesthesia surgeries.
