Since the outbreak of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, the two sides have held many rounds of negotiations and reached a number of constructive results, but the current situation is still complicated by the incitement of many Western countries and the huge differences between Russia and Ukraine on key issues. At the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, many Western agencies reported that Poland, Bulgaria, and Slovakia would provide Ukraine with the MiG-29 series fighters equipped by their own air forces, with a total of about 70 fighters, in order to support the Ukrainian Air Force to restore its dominance over air supremacy.
This incident caused an uproar in Ukraine, and everyone from the members of parliament to the people of the city was convinced of this, thinking that the three eastern European countries were reaching out to help in times of crisis. But then the relevant response of the leaders of the three countries can be described as three consecutive slaps to the Ukrainian officials and people, which completely disgraced them, and the leaders of the three countries all said that they would not provide any warplanes to Ukraine, and the above information was fabricated.
However, according to the latest news, recently, the Polish Foreign Ministry has released news that after the official consultation between President Duda and the cabinet, it is decided that all the existing MiG-29 series fighters of the Polish Air Force will be transferred to the US Military Rams Air Base in Germany, and then transferred to the Ukrainian government by the United States. In addition, the Polish Foreign Ministry also said in a statement that it hopes that the United States can provide a certain scale of fighters, even second-hand, to make up for the decline in defense capabilities after the MiG-29 withdrew from the Polish Air Force's combat sequence, and Polish officials also called on the vast number of Eastern European countries to participate in this operation.
Poland, one of the former members of the Soviet Union, in addition to purchasing 12 MiG-29 series fighters (9 single-seat MiG-29As and 3 two-seat MiG-29UB) from the CPSU authorities in the late 1980s, also recovered 10 MiG-29 fighters (9 MiG-29A and 1 MiG-29UB) from the Czech Republic at the end of 1995 shortly after the collapse of the Soviet Union.
When the time came to the 21st century, the Polish and German officials reached a relevant agreement, Germany sold 22 MiG-29 fighters to Poland at a low price, so that the Polish Air Force's MiG-29 battle group was completed and continues to this day. For the overall performance and actual performance of the MiG-29, whether it is the Polish official or the Polish Air Force, they are deeply disgusted by this, and they are eager to get rid of it quickly. However, due to the failure to find a suitable alternative model, as well as its own poor economic conditions and military budget, Polish officials had to continue the life of the MiG-29 fighter through various improvement and upgrade plans to meet their own national defense needs.
The Polish official decision is clearly well thought out, and overall, polish officials will be very profitable if the plan is successfully approved by the United States. This is an opportunity to completely remove the dying MiG-29 battle group from its air force, thus laying the foundation for subsequent equipment upgrading, and at worst, saving a lot of money.
Second, through the various types of fighters provided by the United States, the overall combat capability of the Polish Air Force can be improved, and in mind, even the US-made second-hand fighters are much stronger than the "famous" MiG-29 fighters.
The last point is the most important, today's Russian-Ukrainian conflict is not only a muddy water, but also a huge fire of destruction, whether it is the old empire Of England, France, Germany and other countries, or the UNITED-led NATO organization, have retreated, lest they ignite the fire. Therefore, this move can avoid the Polish official being involved in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, thereby reducing the hatred and revenge of the Russian official against the Polish official in the future.
But not long after Poland's small calculation, the Pentagon spokesman responded to the matter by saying that the Polish official proposal was "untenable", not only too complicated and "too risky", so the Polish official proposal was rejected.
In addition, there are two points worth noting, one is that Kirby said that Poland's supply of MiG-29 fighters to Ukraine is a private matter between the two countries, and the transfer of MiG-29 fighters to airports in NATO system countries is obviously contrary to NATO regulations.
Second, Kirby did not respond positively to the proposal that polish officials had prepared funds for the purchase of American-made warplanes, which marked the bankruptcy of the Polish official concept. The Pentagon's timely response and resolute attitude show that the United States still adheres to the usual policy since the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, that is, it will not intervene in various inflammatory or highly threatening ways, so as to avoid any possibility of conflict between the United States and Russia in a positive direction.
Like the latter two points, it reminds Poland that if it wants to provide Ukraine with MiG-29 fighters, it can make its own decisions, and there is no need to pretend to be in the hands of the United States, in other words, the United States does not want to carry this black pot, and the United States will never sell any fighters to polish officials at this juncture, even second-hand fighters.
Since the beginning of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, western countries' military assistance to Ukraine has been in an increasing trend, such as Lviv in western Ukraine, which welcomes 14 various transport aircraft full of various types of weapons and ammunition every day, which have come from many Western countries. But the problem is that the weapons and equipment that Western countries can provide to Ukraine are mainly individual equipment or supporting materials, such as "Stinger" anti-aircraft missiles, "Javelin" anti-tank missiles, NLAW anti-tank missiles, medical supplies, body armor, helmets and so on.
Like the Ukrainian official in the front line area urgently needed main battle tanks, armored transport vehicles, infantry fighting vehicles, air defense systems, fighter jets, drones, etc., whether the United States is good, or many European countries, have not reached out, and the above types of equipment, in essence, are extremely lethal offensive weapons, once the Ukrainian official army obtains these equipment, then the Russian army engaged in the war will encounter an unprecedented threat. Therefore, Russian officials have repeatedly issued statements saying that countries that provide relevant offensive weapons to Ukraine's official army will bear all collateral consequences.
In addition, russian units fighting on the battlefields of Ukraine were authorized to destroy any convoys of weapons delivered to Ukrainian officials if they were found to be destroyed by ferocious fire. But the United States, which is well aware of the stakes, chose to refuse, saying: "Only if I let others carry the pot, then it will be the turn of others to let me carry the pot."
