At the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics, Chinese player Shen Xuezhao Hongbo won the double figure skating championship, which was the first time that a Chinese athlete won an Olympic title in the event. This year, Zhao Hongbo was 37 years old and Shen Xue was 32 years old. In 1992, 14-year-old Shen Xue and 19-year-old Zhao Hongbo cooperated for the first time to become a new pair of Chinese pair figure skating, and after continuous running-in and tacit cooperation, the two won the world championship many times, and jointly created a good story in the double figure skating project.
In the 18 years of cooperation in double figure skating events, Shen Xue Zhao Hongbo participated in 4 Olympic Games and won 1 gold and 2 bronze; participated in 11 World Figure Skating Championships, winning 3 gold, 3 silver medals and 1 bronze medal; participating in 10 World Figure Skating Grand Prix Finals, winning 6 gold, 1 silver and 2 bronze, during which he also won the asian winter games, the National Games and other competitions. Since then, Shen Xue Zhao Hongbo has also become a business card of Chinese figure skating. After years of cooperation, the two also got married in 2007, and the day after the Vancouver Winter Olympics won, the two announced their retirement, and the Winter Olympics championship was also the last goal of their careers. On September 4, 2010, the two were married on ice at the Capital Stadium.
After retiring from the army, Zhao Hongbo changed his career to coaching, and currently serves as the head coach of the national team figure skating team, training another pair of world champions Sui Wenjing/Han Cong. Shen Xue did not work as a coach after retiring from retirement, and served as an ambassador for the Beijing Winter Olympic Bid, and later served as deputy secretary of the Beijing Municipal Youth League Committee, participating in the preparations for the Beijing Winter Olympics. Currently, Shen Xue also serves as the president of the Chinese Figure Skating Association, which was established in 2018.
All along, subject to geographical, environmental and other factors, winter sports, especially skiing, skating and other sports are not popular in China, the number of competition venues, the number of participants is not much, so in the Winter Olympics, most of them are Nordic and other countries athletes to participate, it can be seen that Shen Xue Zhao Hongbo can achieve such results is not easy. The victory of the two has also driven the development of winter sports in China to a certain extent, and at present, China's athletes have also won the championship in the world winter sports competition for many times.
