Dinamo Zagreb officially announced that in response to the request of former Croatia international Serna and former club player Dario Zahora, the club has joined the action to help the children of the Shakhtar Football Academy in Donetsk ukraine and has taken the young players of the Donetsk Football Academy away from Ukraine.

Dynamo Zagreb said on its official website:

At the invitation and request of renowned Croatian national team player Srna and former Dynamo player Dario Zakhola, Dinamo Zagreb joined the action to help the children of the Shakhtar Football Academy of Donetsk Ukraine. The Dinamo Club and Club Foundation in Zagreb reacted immediately by joining organizations transporting children from war-threatened areas.

Two buses arrive at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border and take the children to Zagreb. On Monday night, a total of 27 girls, men and women and four staff members arrived. They are located in the club's "67" hotel, located at the foot of the south stand of maximilian stadium. Clubs and foundations provide accommodation, food and other supplies for children.

We would also like to thank our partner Sport Vision, who helped all girls and boys buy sportswear. Children will visit zagreb zoo and on Wednesday morning they will head to Maestral Kaštel Lukšić, a children's home in Kaštela, where they will be housed until further notice.

Ms Vlatka Peras, CEO of Dynamo Zagreb and director of the Foundation, said: "We sympathize with the children and their suffering, and this is the least part of what we can do to help them in this difficult situation. We reiterate our call for peace and hope that this state of war will cease as soon as possible and that children will return home happily and quickly "

Former Croatia international, Director of Miner Donetsk Sner, said: "We all know the situation in Ukraine and the Ukrainian people, and believe me, any form of help means a lot to them. On behalf of my club, I would like to thank Dinamo Zagreb for doing so much for Shahtar in this difficult situation and a lot for the children of our academy. I would like to thank CEO Vlatka-Pelas and all those involved in this humanitarian operation. Thank you so much, we will never forget that. ”
