UN Women is the United Nations organization for equality and the improvement of women's relations.

On the same day, the "Symposium on Biodiversity and Climate Change from a Gender Perspective" co-organized by UN Women and the China And Globalization Think Tank was held in Beijing, China. Professionals from government agencies, embassies, UN agencies, financial institutions, academia and think tanks gathered to discuss climate action related to climate and environmental policies to promote gender equality, and Ms. Smriti Aryal, UN Women's Representative in China, delivered an opening speech.

Ms. Ansiqi said women and girls are more vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and called on all sectors of society to recognize the important role women play in adapting, mitigating and responding to climate change. Ms Ansiqi said UN Women, together with all sectors of society, will continue to support all relevant stakeholders in integrating gender equality into decision-making related to climate and environmental action.

The theme of this year's Women's Day is "Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow". On this special day, UN agencies in China are joining forces to celebrate the contributions of women and girls around the world to building a sustainable future, calling for recognition of the important role women play in adapting, mitigating and responding to climate change, and calling for women to participate more equally in climate and environment-related decision-making. Promoting gender equality can build a sustainable future!

Whether we want to build a happy family or a healthier and more sustainable society, we must give women equal rights and opportunities, so that half of the people in this society can fully realize their personal value.
