Media people from both sides of the strait who participated in the activity of "Meeting the Beautiful Jiangsu And Finding the Peak of Purple Gold" walked into the Suzhou Kun Theater in Jiangsu Province on the 9th to enjoy the "Ancestor of a Hundred Plays" and feel the charm of traditional Chinese drama.

The predecessor of Suzhou Kun Opera House is the Jiangsu Su Kun Opera Troupe, which was established in October 1956, and was transformed into a courtyard in November 2001, which is the professional theater troupe of the birthplace of Kunqu opera. "The Suzhou Kun Opera House was built on the site of the Kunqu Opera Transmission Institute." Actor Yan Yafen introduced that in 1921, in order to inherit the art of Kunqu opera, people of insight established the Kunqu Opera Transmission Institute in Suzhou and trained a group of Kunqu opera artists of the "chuan" generation. The institute was disbanded due to the chaos of the war, and the artists of the "chuan" generation drifted into the rivers and lakes. After the founding of New China, the party and the government convened artists of the "chuan" generation to cultivate five generations of Suzhou Kunju opera people who "inherited", "inherited", "hong", "Yang" and "zhen". Yan Yafen is a character of "Yang".

Yan Yafen told China News Agency that Suzhou Kun Opera House has a lot of cooperation with Taiwan. Before the pandemic, there were some performances and lectures in Taiwan every year. The youth version of "Peony Pavilion", one of the "top plays" of the Kun Opera House, was jointly created by artists from both sides of the Strait, Hong Kong and Macao, including the famous Taiwanese writer Bai Xianyong.

On the stage, the "Stealing Poems" in the folding play "The Book of Jade Hairpins" is rehearsed, which tells the story of the scholar Pan Bizheng stealing the nun Chen Miaochang's book of love and affection, and the two confirm each other's intentions. Wu Jiajun, a Kunqu opera actor who plays Pan Bizheng, said in an interview with a reporter from China News Agency that learning Kunqu opera is the inheritance of traditional culture, and many things will change with the changes of the times, but Kunqu opera will not.

"I actually understood a few words!" Taiwan's new media marketing expert Wang Chenyi was very surprised, she told the China News Agency reporter that her grandfather is from Xuzhou, Jiangsu Province, and likes to watch Kun opera, "When I was a child, I was still very angry, why did my grandfather grab TV with me, he wanted to watch Kun opera and didn't let me watch cartoons." Now I know that my grandfather missed his hometown through Kun opera. ”

Taiwanese actor Wei Huini put on a pink Kunqu opera costume to take a photo. She watched "Peony Pavilion" on TV when she was a child and was very interested in the headdresses of Kunqu opera actors. She believes that the two Kunqu opera actors are very dedicated, "even if they are rehearsing and wearing modern costumes, their eyes are very focused on each other, and the communication between them is really emotional." ”

The joint interview activity of "Meeting the Beautiful Jiangsu And Finding the Purple and Golden Peak" was co-sponsored by the National Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Huaxia Jingwei Network and the Taiwan Affairs Office of Jiangsu Province.
