"From the day I joined the revolution, I have long put my personal life and death aside." Song Yuanfu, an elderly veteran, calmly said in the face of this reporter: "At that time, I obeyed the organizational arrangements and was responsible for the work of the air force ground correspondent. Unfortunately, until the end of the Korean War, I did not have the opportunity to fight with the enemy on the front line! The old man said while using his hand, "At that time, the troops were stationed in the northeast, and I was assigned by my superiors to perform communication tasks. Along the way, U.S. planes kept dropping bombs on the border line because they were relatively close to the site of the explosion, and I was stunned and buried in the rubble by the exploded dirt blocks. I thought I was glorious, but God made a joke with me, and after a bang, I just lost my ears. When I touched the communication documents in my pocket, I was afraid of delaying the time, trotted all the way, and finally completed the communication task assigned by my superiors at the first time. At this point, the old man's face showed a satisfied smile, "All reactionaries are paper tigers." Although I couldn't hear it, I knew the road and was bent on listening to the party's command and conscientiously accomplishing the task. Victory is always ours! ”
Huaihai Battle Medal
"Zhongshan is windy and rainy, and millions of heroes have crossed the river. The tiger is better than the past, and the world is turned upside down. As a veteran party member before the founding of the People's Republic of China, the elderly Song Yuanfu told us about his revolutionary journey at his home in the Shuguang community. Born in 1931, he joined the revolution at the age of 16 and participated in the Battle of Huaihai and the Battle of Crossing the River with the troops. After the battle of Huaihai, due to the excellent results of communication work, the old man was honorably admitted to the party. Subsequently, the old man was stationed in the northeast with the troops, responsible for the defense and logistics support of the northeast during the Korean War. In 1955, the old man actively responded to the call of his superiors, followed the demobilized troops, and participated in the preparation and construction of the Sino-Czech Friendship Farm. In 1991, the old man retired from the Sino-Czech Friendship Farm Highway Management Station.

Song Yuanfu said that the most memorable thing in his life was his career in fighting the enemy to the death! During his time as a signal soldier, he had to travel to and from Beijing from the army station once a week, and in order to fight the enemy, he took trains, ferries, motorcycles, and horses. Remember, the most thrilling one - the enemy's truck ran directly over the motorcycle he was driving, and his body was thrown out for a long distance, and he was stunned. After listening, we couldn't help but look at the amiable old man in front of us, and the years left only dense age spots on his face and hands, as if to tell people about the big and small battles experienced by the old man. Listening to the old man, his original intention of joining the team was to be a glorious SOLDIER of the People's Liberation Army, under the leadership of the Communist Party, overthrow the three mountains that were pressed on the people's heads, always follow the party, and realize the value of his own life.

Do not forget the original intention to follow the party, keep in mind the mission and always move forward. Song Yuanfu, 16, participated in a bright road for the Chinese Communist Party to lead the broad masses of the people to seize power by force. After liberation, in response to the party's call, he consciously gave up the preferential treatment of the troops, came to the Sino-Czech friendship farm that was once on the edge of the bitter sea and salt to participate in production and construction, and for decades as a day, strengthened his revolutionary conviction, carried forward the revolutionary tradition, took root in the grass-roots level, and became a "service soldier" of the masses of the people for a lifetime.
To this day, the elderly take the initiative to go to the Dawning Workstation of Chaoyang Street Community every year to pay the party fee, and each time they have to pay a little more money to contribute to the party organization. Only one precious Huaihai Battle medal is preserved in his home, and the rest of the military merit medals and medals have been lost due to several moves. The yellowed red certificates in the drawer are like phonographs, telling us the shining life trajectory of a veteran from youth to old age.
Talking about personal gains and losses, the elderly Song Yuanfu recalled with trembling: "Compared with other comrades who sacrificed their lives, I was lucky to survive, and I was not a big deal. Honor is also given by the party. Although his ears cannot hear, his heart must always be with the Party, not to cause trouble to the organization, and to obey the Party's command. After saying this, the old man stood up, stared out the window, and slowly saluted a military salute.
