In 2020, in the first "Micro Drama" online invitation exhibition held by the China Grand Theatre in Shanghai, the audience of the drama "Five Years of Daming Chongzhen" as the opening work was deeply impressed.

"Five Years of Daming Chongzhen" gathers the creative strength of young theaters that are rare in Shanghai at present. Written by Xu Jingbo, associate professor of the Department of History of Soochow University, Ph.D. of the Department of History of Fudan University, graduated from the Shanghai Theater Academy and the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, and is now working as a director for Li Mengze, a young director at the Shanghai Dramatic Arts Center.

Kang Aishi, a veteran actor who won the 17th Plum Blossom Awards and played Tian Futang in the TV series "Ordinary World", played Xu Guangqi, the "first person of Sino-Western exchanges"; Ren Shan, an outstanding actor spanning film and television and theater, played roles such as Bingbu Shangshu Xiong Mingyu in his works; Jiang Ke, a well-known drama and voice actor, played Ni Yuanlu in the play; the young "Chongzhen Emperor" was played by Tang Yize, a young actor studying at Donghua University, and four young actors, Wang XiaHaozhe, Lu Weilong, Feng Guanqing, and Liu Yuhang, also played important roles in the play.
