After the battle began, due to the backwardness of the weapons and equipment, the initial attack was not smooth, and in the evening, with the reinforcement of the mountain artillery battalion, the shells fell accurately into the village, and the shrunken enemy was suddenly in a state of confusion and fled in a hurry.

Fang Tianjing came out of the hiding place, and the enemy knew that he was alone, so he had the courage to try to resist with a gun, and was killed by Fang Tianjing on the spot.
The rest of the people had to obediently raise their hands and be escorted back by Fang Tianjing.
In this way, Fang Tianjing alone captured a squad of the enemy, and the 3rd Column specially gave him a special merit and awarded him the honorary title of "Lonely Hero", you know, he was the first soldier in the entire Liaodong Military Region to receive this honor in 1947.
