The shape, pen and brushwork of the goose in this painting are the meanings of Lü Ji (active in 1439-1505), a famous court flower and bird painter in the middle of the Ming Dynasty. However, the stone does not see its commonly used axe splitting method, the brush of the goose is flat, and the lines of reeds and stones are more undulating, especially the water pattern is the most obvious, so it may be made by the later imitators of the Lü clan.
