Talk about my gongbi character painting creation

People born in the 60s are more likely to resonate with lofty, idealistic feelings, of course, not the style of "false emptiness", but a yearning and pursuit of beautiful things. After graduating from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1987, I was assigned to the Chengdu Academy of Painting and have been working on the creation of gongbi figure paintings. Over the years, I have created mostly young people.2 In 2014, I wanted to create a figure painting with a brush stroke, showing the theme of several post-90s college students riding bicycles to Lhasa, "Going to Lhasa". In recent years, every summer, thousands of young people have cycled along the Sichuan-Tibet Line and the Yunnan-Tibet Line to Lhasa, and the hardships on the way can be imagined. Their arduous riding on the winding road forms a unique landscape and makes people along the way sincerely admire and admire. The motivation they showed to grow and to work hard to make progress strongly touched me. I paid attention to this group of young people who had sharpened themselves and started to create the work "Going to Lhasa". This is the second time that I have chosen contemporary realistic themes to create after "Tianjiao".
