Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

Text | Chu Liuxiang

On February 24, 2022, Putin issued an order and waved his troops to the city of Ukraine, and the Russo-Ukrainian War began.

This made many "military bricklayers" not think of it, nor did they guess it, after all, the difference between "talking on paper" and the actual war was 108,000 miles.

In the face of this war of worldwide concern, some people lament putin's domineering spirit and support the toughness of the Russian fighting nation.

Some people accuse the "polar bear" of being aggressive, which is essentially no different from the United States and NATO.

Of course, there are also people who are compassionate and sympathetic to the suffering and innocence of ordinary Ukrainians.

In fact, the war is inseparable from a man in Ukraine who has stubborn pro-American obsessions.

It can even be said that it was he who personally ignited the fuse of the Russo-Ukrainian War, thus setting himself on fire and directly leading to the occurrence of this great war.

Let's take a look at the true and absurd story of his "drama is like life, life is like drama".

One

The word "Ukraine" first appeared in the History of Rus' and means "frontier land", the Ukrainian nation is a branch of the Ancient Rus, historically the core region of Kievan Rus'.

Ukraine's geographical location is important, the natural conditions are good, and it has always been a place where soldiers must fight and has suffered from war.

In the 13th and 14th centuries, Ukraine was ruled by the Mongol Golden Horde, the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, and Poland.

In 1654, Khmelnytsky, the then chief of Ukraine, signed the Pereya Slavic Treaty with the Russian Tsar, and his relationship with Russia began.

In 1922, Ukraine joined the Soviet Union, was the second largest ally, and became the "second son" of the Soviet Union.

After 69 years of glory, the Soviet Union, once known as the world's superpower, collapsed in 1991, when it declared its independence four months before the collapse of the Federation and went it alone.

After independence, Ukraine, with an area of 603,700 kilometers, is the second largest country in Europe after Russia, and of course it is also the intersection of the GEOpolitics of the EU and the CIS, especially with Russia.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

More importantly, Ukraine inherited the rich military legacy of the former Soviet Union, including more than 2,700 nuclear warheads, more than 6,000 main battle tanks, 3 aircraft carriers and 35 Tu-160 strategic bombers and 1,500 aircraft, making it the third military power at that time.

In particular, the "Satan missile" and the Tu-160 have made the United States also frightened.

If these arsenals were left safe at home, Ukraine would be able to dominate one side and be at ease.

But unfortunately, because of the messy economy, Ukraine is unable to maintain a huge arsenal of weapons, and it cannot withstand the "sweet words" and repeated flickering of the West, as well as the strong pressure from Russia, as a result, under various threats and inducements, Ukraine has chosen to abolish its own martial arts.

Those intercontinental missiles, nuclear weapons, aircraft carriers, strategic bombers, high-end tanks, etc., which once made all countries in the world jealous but coveted, were all dismantled into piles of scrap iron that could not be sold, and since then they have completely lost their ability to protect themselves and harmed future generations for thousands of years.

Ukraine implements a multi-party system, a total of 198 political parties, until 2019, although there have been six presidents such as Kravchuk, Kuchma, Yushchenko, Yanukovych, Turchynov, Poroshenko and so on, except for Turchinov, who has only been the acting president for more than 4 months, Yanukovych was deposed and fled to Russia due to the "2014 Ukraine crisis" before his term of office, the rest of the presidents basically pursue a pro-American policy, and only the United States is the leader.

This has also led to the entire Ukrainian national economy being controlled by the oligarchy of capital, corrupt officials and profiteers colluding, serious corruption, the country's wealth all falling into private pockets, the domestic economy is very sluggish, coupled with the pro-American and pro-Russian forces are not described, and the domestic ethnic contradictions are numerous.

In just 31 years, Ukraine, once the world's third-largest military power, has been completely reduced to the "frontier position" and "powder keg" of NATO's eastward expansion and Russia's vow to defend the country's core security interests.

Two

In 1978, a baby boy named Vladimir Aleksandrovich Zelensky was born into a Jewish family in Krivorog, Dnipropetrovsk Oblast, eastern Ukraine, a Confederate state under the Soviet Union.

Zelenskiy's father, Alexander Semyonovich Zelensky, was a professor at the Krivorrog Institute of Economics at Kiev State University and a longtime chair of the Department of Computer Science and Software at the university.

Her mother, Lima Vladimirovna, was a former engineer and became a full-time wife after Zelenskiy was born.

This year, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin was 26 years old, had completed two years of rigorous training for the KGB, and successfully entered the confidential department of leningrad intelligence and became a KGB agent.

At that time, Putin and Zelenskiy were both former Soviets, and the real contest between them was 44 years later.

When Zelenskiy was very young, his father was sent to work in Erdente, Mongolia, where he spent four years with his parents and was educated.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

After returning to Ukraine, Zelenskiy attended a secondary school of no. 95 near the local 95th block of Krivorog.

Later, "Block 95" became the source of the idea for the name of the comedy team and production company he founded, but that was a story.

Zelenskiy, who was also a school bully, passed the TOEFL test at the age of 16 and planned to study in Israel.

At this moment, it is the third year of Ukraine's declaration of independence, many weapons inherited from the Soviet Union's Excalibur cannon are still there, and the domestic situation is acceptable, which is safer than Israel, which fights at every turn.

After some persuasion from his parents, Zelenskiy finally chose to stay in Ukraine and enter the Kyiv State University Law School.

However, Zelenskiy did not want to pursue a career as a lawyer, and after graduation, he never worked in the law again.

Three

Zelenskiy, who had little interest in the law, showed his talent in acting very early.

When he was in high school, he had a keen interest in comedy and enjoyed it.

During college, I began to try out acting and had the experience of taking the stage in the theater.

Zelenskiy's creative and comedic talents attracted the attention of KVN, a well-known Ukrainian entertainment program team at the time, and an olive branch was thrown.

In 1997, Zelenskiy co-founded the comedy performance team "95 Blocks" (Квартал-95), also known as the "95 Quarters", and served as the captain, actor and screenwriter, and did three people's work alone.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

After that, Zelenskiy led the "95 block" to participate in the Competition of Ukrainian TV entertainment programs organized by KVN and held tours in the CIS countries, which were well received and soon opened up to popularity.

He even shot the MV for the song "Веревки", fully naked in the camera, dancing loudly, fully demonstrating the nonsense comedy style, and the eye-catching effect was remarkable.

At this time, Putin performed amazingly all the way through the hurdles, and also met the biggest nobleman in his life, former Russian President Boris Yeltsin, who entered his vision and was deeply appreciated by him, and was regarded as the future successor.

On the last day of 1999, Yeltsin stepped down early and handed the baton to Putin, who had just turned 47, and told him:

"Russia will be up to you from now on, do a good job..."

Since then, Putin has embarked on the road to his iron-blooded president, and he has vowed to the heavens: "Give me 20 years and give you a strong Russia!" ”

Russia, which is in decline with internal and external troubles, is changing little by little in his hands.

In 2003, Zelenskiy suspended his contract with KVN and plunged into the arms of Ukrainian network 1+1, and the "95 Block" comedy performance team was transformed into a studio, focusing on television content production, film production and entertainment program touring, zelenskiy became the boss himself.

Since then, many programs such as "Kvartal Evening", which is the chief producer and main actor of Zelenskiy, have been broadcast on the international channels of the TV station, and with the continuous rise in ratings, Zelenskiy has become a star in the Ukrainian performing arts industry.

In 2011, as the head of the "95th Quarter", he appeared on the cover of the Ukrainian Magazine "Fox".

Zelenskiy, who soared freely in the field of art, was also very happy in terms of personal life.

In the year he founded the studio as the owner, the 41-year-old Zelenskiy married his classmate Zelenskaya and had a pair of children after marriage; his wife was also a screenwriter in the studio.

According to public information, Vladimir earned $178,000 in 2017, his wife earned $29,900, and the couple had a total of $727,500, €50,100 and 1.4 million hryvnia (Ukrainian currency) in their bank accounts.

In addition, there is a house and a plot of land in the capital Kiev, as well as three apartments and three parking spaces in the Kiev local and Crimean regions.

Zelenskiy's means of transportation was a Land Rover, and his wife's car was a Mercedes.

In Ukraine, where the economy is withering, it can also be regarded as a rich class above the middle class, and it is a proper winner in life.

Four

Through the Ukrainian tv channel 1+1, Zelenskiy successfully hitched a ride with the noble man of his life, Ihor Kolomoisky.

He is the CEO of the British network 1+1 channel, the de facto controller of the "Southern Machinery Factory" in Dnieper Bodrovs Oblast, an important shareholder in Ukraine's state-owned oil company, and even a private armed man, one of Ukraine's richest people.

With the support of Dilomoyski, explicitly or implicitly, Zelenskiy is equivalent to standing on a higher platform, with more and better opportunities, taking advantage of this, he has starred in "Zzewski vs. Napoleon", "8 Dates" and other film and television works.

When it comes to Ukraine, many people think of beautiful women first.

Due to the unique climatic and environmental conditions and the genetic plug-in of the Slavic nation, Ukraine is not only rich in beautiful women, but also produced many highly recognizable actresses.

For example, Mira Jovovich, the heroine of "Resident Evil", Mira Jovovich, the "Bang Girl" of "007 Quantum of Crisis", Oga Kryranko, the "Lily" of "Black Swan", Mila Kunis, etc., are all authentic Ukrainian beauties.

In addition to beautiful women, Ukraine has another "specialty" that is world-famous, that is, corruption.

When the Crisis in Ukraine struck in 2014, demonstrators stormed the presidential palace and saw this:

The estate covers an area of 1.4 square kilometers, and its level of luxury cannot be described in words.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

At that time, Ukraine's finances were insufficient, heating contracted, and in the winter, many people could only use warm water bottles at home.

This is only the corruption of pro-Russian presidents, and even more so for pro-American presidents who are mostly controlled by Western powers.

According to a Gallup poll released in March 2019, 91 percent of Ukrainians are dissatisfied with government corruption, and only 9 percent of Ukrainians have confidence in the government.

Against this backdrop, a 24-episode political satire comedy (anti-corruption drama) – Servant of the People – came into being.

Five

The protagonist of the play is Vasily Petrovich, an ordinary Ukrainian secondary school history teacher.

Like thousands of Ukrainians, Vasily's sluggish domestic economy left Vasily destitute and struggling to survive on a meager wage, while the 37-year-old still lives with his parents in the dilapidated "Khrushchev Building" left by the former Soviet Union.

In addition to the unsatisfactory life, the work is also frequently excluded.

As a history teacher, his history class is not taken seriously compared to other subjects, and there are often cases when students are drawn from his class due to school organization activities.

This time, in preparation for the upcoming presidential election, the school temporarily stopped his classes and sent students to set up polling tables.

It was tolerable, it was intolerable, and Vasily's small universe finally exploded.

He was furious in front of his colleagues and other students, denouncing the current government corruption, social ills and all kinds of cats behind the so-called democratic elections, and he ran amok on the spot, almost roaring all the way through the foul language, like a gushing river, not only madly dissing the government, but also greeting the president's entire family by the way, and the people next to him were stunned.

After the scolding, Vasily felt very relieved.

He also issued a "political opinion" on the spot, imagining that if he was elected president, he would definitely let the people live a presidential-like life.

Vasily's big talk and generous remarks about Ukrainian politics were secretly filmed by the students who did not think about the big deal, and also sent to the "YouTube".

Unexpectedly, the result of this video exploded overnight, with 8 million hits, becoming a hot search, fire, and the parents of the whole school knew, and even the people of the whole country knew.

What is even more unexpected is that because of the words of the heart that everyone has been suppressed by corrupt politics for too long, Vasily has won the respect and support of the vast number of Ukrainian citizens, and they have supported him to run for president.

More students launched crowdfunding online, and in just a few days they helped Vasily raise more than 2 million campaign funds.

Surrounded by the people, Vasily, who was originally indisputable, participated in the presidential campaign with a straight face, not expecting that 60% of the voters would vote for him, and finally he was elected as the new president with super high support.

In this way, a man with no political experience embarked on the road to governing the country in a vacuum, and began a series of dramatic reforms...

As President Vasily's life unfolds, the film also unfolds the road to blackening Ukrainian society in the form of witty humor, and the climax is repeated.

After its broadcast, Servant of the People was well received, reaching an average rating of 10.4% in Ukraine, becoming the most popular TV series in Ukraine since 2015.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

This political comedy made Vasily's zelenskiy famous, established his status as a Ukrainian "national comedian", like a movie emperor, and laid the groundwork for him to become a real president in the future.

At that time, Putin had already tempered himself into a mature and old-fashioned politician who won the prestige of the iron-blooded president in the turbulent domestic and foreign struggles.

The first season of "Servant of the People" Слуга Народа also received a high score of 9.1 on the mainland Douban, which is a divine drama and is a proper Ukrainian witty and spicy version of "The Name of the People".

Six

Seeing that "Servant of the People" was so popular, Zelenskiy began filming a second season in 2017 and launched a film version.

Unsurprisingly, the film was as hot as ever.

At this time, Zelenskiy suddenly had a political feeling, he feared that the name of the national drama would be preemptively registered by other parties, or perhaps be ordered by kolomoisky, the owner of the money behind it, and in December 2017 he commissioned a lawyer to register the "People's Servant Party" in Ukraine under the name of the TV series.

Zelenskiy's portrayal of President Vasily, who vigorously punishes corruption in Servant of the People, is so popular that audiences directly link the image to himself.

Fanatical fans began to agitate him: Why don't you run for office yourself?

Zelenskiy, who played Vasily, was now a household name, and he was finally ready to move when he was addicted to the president in the TV series:

Yeah, so why don't I run for real president?

On December 31, 2018, the new Chinese New Year's Eve, the Ukrainian television channel 1+1 was supposed to broadcast a New Year's message from then Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko.

But unexpectedly, before the presidential message, he took the lead in broadcasting a Zelenskiy-style New Year's greeting, and then he announced on the show that he would participate in the next year's presidential election.

This statement immediately attracted a lot of attention from his fans and melon-eating masses.

On January 21, 2019, the Special Congress of the Servants of the People's Party was held in Kiev, and Zelenskiy was elected as the party's chairman and officially nominated as a presidential candidate.

During this period, some competitors exposed his black material, such as ignoring recruitment notices four times and having a close relationship with the oligarch Kolomoisky, criticizing him for his lack of political experience, but this did not affect Zelenskiy's popularity among the Ukrainian people.

Shortly thereafter, the latest poll of presidential candidates released by Ukraine's independent polling agency, ukraine's independent polling group, showed that Zelenskiy's pre-election public approval rating reached 25.1%, jumping to the first place.

On March 31, 2019, the first round of voting in the Ukrainian presidential election was held, with a total of 39 candidates participating.

In his campaign manifesto, Zelenskiy promised to turn Ukraine into an efficient democracy that "can start a business in an hour, issue a passport in 15 minutes, and vote in elections in a second."

He also elaborated on the "Ukrainian Dream" in his campaign platform, which included: "Doctors and teachers get real pay," "corrupt officials get real incarcerated," and "the elderly can enjoy a comfortable retirement life instead of having a heart attack because they worry about not being able to afford utilities."

As a result, Zelenskiy won the championship with a high approval rating of 30.24%, and the second-place incumbent President Poroshenko received 15.95% of the vote, only about half of it, and then the two entered the second round of competition.

In the presidential campaign, there was a debate between Zelenskiy and Poroshenko.

He angrily denounced the incompetence of the current government, which exacerbated the conflict in Donbass; Poroshenko ridiculed him as an actor, and he was afraid to kneel when he saw Putin.

Zelenskiy replied, "As long as the Ukrainian people don't kneel, I can kneel," and after a pause, he said, "I will kneel to the people who died in the Donbass conflict!" ”

As he spoke, he pounced on the crowd and really fell to his knees.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

When Poroshenko saw this posture, he could not kneel, and could only turn around and kneel on one knee to the supporters behind the Ukrainian flag.

On this knee, Zelenskiy brought his acting talent to the extreme, which can be called a rare classic bridge in the history of presidential campaigns, and it completely exploded his opponents.

On the evening of April 21, the second round of voting ended, and the results showed that Zelenskiy received a staggering 73.3 percent of the vote, which was equivalent to winning the support of three-quarters of the electorate, compared with only 26.3 percent of Poroshenko.

A month later, Zelenskiy assumed the 6th president of Ukraine.

The "Presidential Road" finally came to life from the TV series, and he became the first president in history to play the role of president and be elected president, setting a Guinness Book of Records.

Zelenskiy: A "Ukrainian Emperor" Delayed by the President (Part 1)

Zelenskiy once said that "some of the Ukrainian electorate do not even need to understand their own views to vote for him", and the effect of "Servant of the People" is evident

What's even more amusing is that the "Servant of the People's Party" from the "Kvartal95" studio, all of which came from the opposition party at the time of the election, officially became the ruling party.

Echoing an old saying:

"One man will be enlightened, and the chicken and dog will ascend to heaven."
