In fact, the eu's eventual or refusal to join Ukraine is also very simple. On the one hand, in the context of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, if the EU chooses to accept Ukraine, it is equivalent to completely tearing its face with Russia. Obviously, being dragged into the water by Ukraine is not in the strategic interest of the EU. Because Ukraine, as a country with a long period of negative economic growth, per capita GDP has been hovering at a low level for a long time. According to the EU's balanced development regulations, economically developed member states need to provide hundreds of billions of euros in subsidies to Eastern European countries every year. That is to say, once Ukraine joins the EU, it is bound to increase the burden on EU economic powers such as Germany and France, and even aggravate the tearing within the EU. You know, a big reason why the United Kingdom decided to leave the European Union that year was that it could not bear the burden of providing economic subsidies to Eastern Europe.
