Synopsis of the first season of Servant of the People
Today we introduce the story of a Ukrainian comedy TV series "Servant of the People Season 1", alias Vasha.
The show is about a history teacher, Vasily Petrovich, about his hilarious journey from an unknown secondary school teacher to president of a country.
At the beginning, he was in the classroom, strongly attacking the corruption phenomenon in Ukrainian politics, and did not expect to be photographed by his classmates and put on the Internet. As a result, Vasily unexpectedly became popular, the video hits exceeded 8 million, and then he participated in the presidential campaign with the help of his classmates, and did not expect to be actually elected and became the new president of Ukraine.
The play begins with Vasily becoming president, and the people's teachers who once held a heart to punish corruption have now really become the president of a powerful country. Where will he go, whether he will continue to stick to his original intention and strike hard at the corrupt forces, or succumb to oligarchs and join the same stream and become the new corrupt president.
In reality, Vladimir Zelenskiy was born into a wealthy family and worked as a comedian. In 2015, the TV series Servant of the People made Zelenskiy one of the most influential entertainers in the country. At 20:00 on April 21, 2019, the second round of voting for the 2019 Ukrainian general election ended. Vladimir Zelenskiy, who received a significant lead over incumbent President Petro Poroshenko with a 73.3 percent approval rating, declared victory and thanked all his supporters.
