Can Westbrook leave the Lakers to average a triple-double?

Westbrook was the last regular season player of the month last season, averaging triple-doubles per game, and that capital, combined with his true temperament, misled stakeholders including Jenny Bass, Pelinka James and Davis into abandoning DeRozan and Hield to pay for the superhemot that was collectively celebrated. Judging from the hindsight, from a strategic point of view, such a choice does have a certain scientific content. Because of Westbrook's performance as a Wizard and his all-time top ten-level point guard attributes, there are reasons to be considered worth more than DeRozan, who has not yet changed qualitatively at the time, and Hield, whose functions are more inclined to shooters.

Before trying Out Westbrook, although the Lakers gained a tactical advantage in the championship season because the latter would not shoot in the playoffs, James still endorsed it harshly, which also reflected James's trust in Westbrook — and trust in himself. James is the most versatile player of all time, having made the transition from championship point guard to starting center in two years.

It's hard to say how the Lakers would have had a different ending if James at his peak took Westbrook of this age and Davis was healthy. But the truth is that James finally ate the only weakness of his career, that is, the irreversible loss of age, because even if he changed his playing style to rely on his unaccustomed scoring team in the context of the Lakers' long-term non-full staff, he could not prevent Westbrook's lack of game influence from causing harm to the Lakers.

At the trade deadline, the Lakers didn't waste their draft picks to send Westbrook away, so they expected him to be able to "retaliate" in the closing stages of the regular season. If Westbrook hadn't degenerated, he'd also made concessions, such as the Thunder that allowed George to reach the pinnacle of his career at the glory level: one-on-one plus MVP and DPOY top three. That Westbrook, not the best player on the team, was replaced by George as the tactical boss and offensive core, but he was also able to average a triple-double per game. The triple-double win rate is also good.

Unfortunately, Westbrook does not seem to have this capital, even if the Lakers' standard for the championship has degenerated into a play-off place defense battle, not a high-end game, but Westbrook still can't control the team's task for him to match. So that through the third party's arguments, the stronger Westbrook has gradually accepted the fact that he may not be suitable for the Lakers.

So Westbrook and the Lakers were reported to have intentionally broken up. The value of the Westbrook deal with only one year of contract is higher than this year's Westbrook, of course, the Lakers are willing to give the draft pick. So one assumption is: If Westbrook leaves the Lakers, will he still be able to average a triple-double per game?

The first thing to look at is where Westbrook's new owner is, which determines the attitude of the boss. After the Lakers prove themselves in reverse, Westbrook may dissuade the championship giants who have limited interest in him, and as for the strategically rotten reconstruction weak brigade, the interest in him is basically zero, estimated to include the old owner Thunder. What is still in demand for Westbrook is almost a look at his final year contract to meet the team's plans and those teams that are not competitive enough and the market generally needs a super giant to sell tickets.

For example, before Westbrook was traded to the Wizards for Wall, Jordan's Hornets and the largest Knicks by market capitalization were interested in passing Westbrook, and the common denominator of the two teams at the time was that they needed a supergiant to stimulate the market. The bosses who are more interested in money will probably be buyers of Westbrook, such as the Rockets and Knicks, including the Lakers who have already moved.

Since Westbrook is to be the boss in the team, it is possible to use the large number of balls provided to achieve an average triple-double. Westbrook's leadership qualities are unquestionable, he is the boss of the locker room with the Thunder and Wizards, and as strong as the then All-Star starter Bill is at least willing to give way to the right to speak publicly. Westbrook's frustration after being abandoned in the fourth quarter and the possibility of resisting any discussion of substitutes show that he still positions himself as a supergiant, a mentality that has benefited him from averaging a triple-double per game this season. At the same time, leaving the Lakers, a platform that even James, who is second only to Jordan, has been booed, Westbrook himself has negative energy to suspend access to social media, which may be able to maximize its effect after no pressure.

However, Westbrook still showed signs of serious degradation, and his basket finish and signature play board gradually lost their effect, and even appeared to be outrageous to amateur smashing timer shots. There were also mistakes in passing, which had a clear role in Westbrook and was a basic task, and the value for money was very low. Harden has said that his mistakes were based on trusting his teammates, but Westbrook is clearly another matter. Westbrook's ability to use his physical superiority in the penalty area also plummeted off a cliff, either being blocked or playing iron near the basket. Westbrook's bottom corner three-pointer is the only area where shooting rates are above the league average, also because the base is too small, and his first choice in this position is still to break through.

These problems are limiting Westbrook's ability to continue to average a triple-double per game if he leaves the Lakers, which will be more challenging and consume more resources. If the boss is just selling tickets for a chance to meet Westbrook's needs, teammates also need a boss who is at least quality in the regular season so that there will be no psychological imbalance. For Westbrook, playing with James, who is in the first gear of history, has not escaped the black history of not playing high-end games, which will exacerbate the speed of his career dwarfing.

The current situation in Westbrook reminds me of another supergiant, C Ronaldo, who is playing for Manchester United in world football. In addition to the huge difference in historical status, Ronaldo and Westbrook have too much in common: obsession with data, mental attributes that have been created, and because the style of play is monotonous in the supergiant, and eating the body, there is no physical advantage after age, and the lack of market, the recent situation is that last year was expected to become the core of the championship but led to the collapse of the original team system.
