At the time point when the Russian-Ukrainian war situation entered the eighth day, the Russian Defense Ministry finally released the casualty data for several days for the first time.
According to the China News Agency, on March 2, local time, Russian Defense Ministry spokesman Konashenkov said that since the launch of the Ukrainian military operation, the Russian army has destroyed more than 1,500 military installations in Ukraine at the cost of 498 deaths and 1,597 wounded.
On top of the strategic points of control, the Russian military has captured the first Ukrainian city, Kherson in southern Ukraine, and the mayor of Kherson on the Ukrainian side and relevant officials have confirmed this statement.

At present, Russia's offensive against Ukraine has presented a continuous north-south pincer offensive, and from the overall strategic objectives, it can be briefly divided into two parts: "Great Wudong" and "Little Wudong".
"Little Udon" is mainly the entire southeastern region of Ukraine, including the three important cities of Kharkiv, Kherson and Zaporizhia, and the intensity of the Russian war is relatively high in this area.
However, limited by the prohibition of not harming ordinary people, the progress of the entire battle was relatively slow, and the Russian army had to pay more casualties to achieve certain results. Fortunately, the battle in Kharkov has penetrated deep into the city, and judging from the current situation of confrontation between Russia and Ukraine, russia will be able to completely take the "Little Wudong" region in a few days.
Although Russia's ownership of "Little Wudong" can be said to be determined to win, the prospects for military operations against "Great Wudong" are not optimistic. The so-called "Greater Udon" is actually a whole region of Eastern Ukraine connected by the Dnieper River, with Odessa and Kiev as the fulcrum, accounting for two-fifths of the total area of the whole Ukraine.
On the Odessa front, the Russians only occupied the overseas snake island and alerted Odessa from a distance, while the main Russian forces were still on the Kiev side. At present, the Russian army has completed the encirclement of Kiev, and the fighting outside Kiev is gradually advancing, and if the Russian military wants to completely take the "Great Wudong" region, Kiev is a fang that must be pulled out.
At the same time, as the current capital of Ukraine, the political significance of taking Kiev is also very important. However, the Russian military does not seem to have the intention of taking Kiev at present, and it is uncertain whether the reason why the "Little Wudong" war has not been completely resolved is still affected by the recent Russian-Ukrainian peace talks.
After finalizing the second meeting between Russia and Ukraine, the Russian side has taken the lead in arriving at the negotiation site on the evening of March 2, local time. However, the Ukrainian delegation was late in coming, and the second round of Negotiations between Russia and Ukraine could only be postponed to the 3rd of local time. All indications show that the Ukrainian side does not seem to be concerned about the so-called "peace talks."
At the same time, the information released by the Ukrainian side on the issue of "lateness" is also very confusing, some Ukrainian officials claim that because of the impact of the war, the delegation had to "detour" to the negotiation site, resulting in late arrival, while some Ukrainian official voices said that because the two sides could not reach an agreement on the negotiation location, it finally affected the delegation's actions.
It is not difficult to see from these chaotic voices that the Ukrainian government is in serious chaos. In fact, the Ukrainian side has obviously not given up the "illusion" of obtaining military assistance from Western countries. On the sidelines of the Russian-Ukrainian talks, the Ukrainian side also urgently submitted an "application for accession" to the EU, hoping to seize the last "life-saving straw" at such a critical moment.
Ukraine, which has been reluctant to appear at the Russia-Ukraine talks, can also show a "strong" attitude to the outside world, so as to gain more support from the EU and NATO. If NATO and the European Union can be pulled down, then the Ukrainian army will have the opportunity to reverse the decline in the current war in one fell swoop and use NATO's powerful military strength to achieve "counter-encirclement" against Russia.
This is actually the only option left for Ukraine. However, as the war continues to advance, at the cost of huge casualties, it is difficult to say when the Russian army will suddenly change its attitude, increase the intensity of the entire war, and launch a "washing the ground" attack on the Ukrainian army and cities.
