On March 4, Beijing time, the 2021-22 NBA regular season is in full swing. Earlier today, the NBA officially announced the best awards for February. Among them, the Bulls' DeRozan and the Lone Ranger's Doncic were elected as the best players.
Throughout February, DeRozan averaged 34.2 points, 6.2 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game, leading the Bulls to an 8-5 record. According to statistics, DeRozan averaged 34.2 points per game with a shooting rate of 55.3% in February, which created the highest average of 55% shooting per game in a single month since Jordan in March 1992.
Doncic averaged 34.7 points, 10.3 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game, leading the Lone Rangers to a 7-3 record. In addition, Doncic averaged 9.2 three-pointers per game and shot 41.2 percent from three-point range. He became the first player in the NBA since the three-point era (1980) to average at least 30 points, 10 boards, and eight assists in a single month, and shooting at least 40% from three-point range! This is Doncic's second time since November 2019 that he has won the award, becoming the second player in Lone Ranger history to win the monthly best multiple times. (The first is Nowitzki, who has been voted Player of the Month 6 times)
Players nominated for Player of the Month include: East - Adebayo, Allen, Carter Jr., Embiid, Siakam; West - Booker, Jokic, Morant and Downs.
In February's Rookie of the Year selection, the Thunder's Kiddy and the Raptors' Barnes were elected. Kiddy averaged 16.3 points, 8.7 rebounds and 7.7 assists per game; Barnes averaged 15.2 points and 6.8 rebounds per game, shooting 54.0 percent from the field. Jaylen Green (Rockets), Cumminga (Warriors), Trae Mann (Thunder), Cunningham (Pistons), Mobley (Cavaliers), Cameron Thomas (Nets), Wagner Jr. (Magic) nominated!
In February's Best Coach awards, Celtics' Uduka and Jazz's Snyder were elected separately.
Uduka led the Celtics to a 9-2 record in February, and the Celtics are currently sixth in the East with a record of 37 wins and 27 losses.
Snyder led the Jazz to an 8-1 record in February, and the Jazz are currently fourth in the West with a record of 39 wins and 22 losses.
The nominees are Jenkins (Grizzlies), Kidd (Mavericks), Monty (Suns), Bixtaugh (Cavaliers), Nas (Raptors) and Spollstra (Heat).
