The United States "supports" Ukraine's revelations against Taiwan

Author Peng Tao, Deputy Director and Researcher, Center for Taiwan and East Asian Studies, Central China Normal University

In view of the situation in Russia and Ukraine in recent days, the outside world has been hotly discussing topics such as "Today's Ukraine, Tomorrow's Taiwan," and the DPP authorities are eager to move, constantly taking advantage of the opportunity to rub hot spots and brush up on the sense of existence. On the one hand, the DPP authorities are still willing to be "pawns" of the United States in terms of the influence of the lessons of Afghanistan and Ukraine; on the other hand, they are taking sides in the so-called "democratic camp" in Taiwan and following the lead of European and American politicians to "sanction" Russia.

After Russia sent troops to Ukraine, the Taiwan Network frantically reprinted a picture, showing that Ukraine is very different from Taiwan in three points, so it will not end up with the same end as Ukraine, and its core meaning is nothing more than that it is determined that the United States will not let Taiwan fend for itself. On February 26, the USS Ralph Johnson (DDG-114) appeared in the southern part of the Taiwan Strait and was crossing the Taiwan Strait, with an EP-3E electronic reconnaissance aircraft of the U.S. Navy providing intelligence support at the southern mouth of the Taiwan Strait. On March 1, President Biden assigned Michael Glenn Mullen, chairman of the former Joint Chiefs of Staff of the United States, a senior cross-party delegation to Taiwan, including Michèle A. Flournoy, former deputy secretary of defense policy, Meghan L. O'Sullivan, former White House deputy national security adviser, and Michael Green, former senior director of Asian affairs at the White House National Security Council. and Evan S. Medeiros, former senior director of Asian affairs at the White House National Security Council. Tsai Office spokesman Zhang Weihan said that the visit shows that Taiwan-US relations are rock solid, fully demonstrates the great importance that the United States attaches to the situation in the Indo-Pacific region, and the highly consensual support of the United States for Taiwan across parties. The visit reflects the "three continuations," namely, continuing to deepen the steady development of Taiwan-US relations, continuing to jointly promote regional peace and stability, and continuing to jointly contribute good and good forces to global peace and prosperity.

This kind of placebo is undoubtedly the result of a good sense of luck, neither seeing the role of the United States behind the deterioration of the situation in Ukraine in 2014, nor realizing that the so-called "relying on the United States to resist China" is nothing more than drinking and quenching thirst. In fact, whether it is Ukraine as the outpost of NATO's eastward expansion or Taiwan on the first island chain, their so-called particularity is only reflected in the use value of being able to be used by the United States behind the scenes, and the identity of chess pieces and "outcasts" is only instantaneous. In fact, whether it is Russia's use of Ukraine as a springboard to expand its power in Europe before the outbreak of war in Ukraine, or after the outbreak of war, taking the opportunity to absorb European capital that flows back to the United States, the United States has benefited, but Ukraine as a pawn is left with only a blindly devastated land and displaced people. The Perfidy of the United States toward its "allies" is nothing new, and its adherence to "America First" has always been the policy guiding philosophy pursued by the US authorities. Now that the United States is also "helping" Taiwan, will there be a day when the United States will also leave in such a mess, leaving Taiwan alone? Why is this "comprador model" of the United States supporting puppet governments repeatedly defeated? Is it really because the United States does not understand reflective improvement? In fact, this kind of "comprador mode" of accumulating a large amount of wealth abroad and desperately conveying benefits to the country is the most in line with the interests of the United States; the United States supports high-ranking officials in the puppet government, lets them wantonly accumulate wealth at home, and then transfers all the property to the United States and thus brings huge benefits to the United States. Frenzied bloodstorming When it is found that the puppet government has lost any value, it is also the time when the United States withdraws its troops.

If the DPP authorities continue to be obstinate, then it can be predicted that it will be sooner or later for the United States to turn its back on Taiwan; unless the Taiwan authorities can bring tremendous benefits to the United States, those puppets loyal to the United States will remain and be liquidated by the people; after all, those who betray the motherland and obstruct the process of national reunification will eventually be nailed to the column of shame in history forever!

Since 1973, the Withdrawal of the United States from Vietnam, Iraq, Syria, to last year's withdrawal of Troops from Afghanistan to the current situation in Russia and Ukraine has shown that what the United States has done is often a matter of lip service but not to the truth, the United States to meet its own interests and abandon its allies will only continue to lose the trust of the international community, Ukraine, Afghanistan and Vietnam as a sovereign country is still abandoned by the United States, and ended up in a miserable situation. As An internal affair of China, the Taiwan issue obviously has a clearer picture of the advantages and disadvantages of the situation. Taiwan is China's core interest, if you have been obsessed with continuing to turn to the United States in a one-sided way, the final fate is to change from a pawn to an "outcast", perhaps the most tragic end is to become a clown who has been sold by the United States and continues to help the United States count banknotes.

Taiwan may not forget the history of the United States in 1979 when it abandoned the Sino-US Mutual Defense Treaty and severed diplomatic relations with the Taiwan authorities and instead established diplomatic relations with the mainland. Under the current situation in Russia and Ukraine, the DPP authorities have forgotten history and cannot distinguish the current situation, and then turn a blind eye to the real purpose of the United States, listen to it, and continue to live in the fairy tale they have woven. In addition to this, the DPP authorities strictly control newspapers, television, and other media, so that most of the information received by the people of Taiwan is unilaterally propaganda by the West, for example, in the news, Taiwan is particularly emphasized that Taiwan is more important than Ukraine, and even if the United States does not save Ukraine now, it will save Taiwan, and then the people of Taiwan will continue to be tied to the "Taiwan independence" chariot by the DPP.

Not only that, in response to the latest developments in the situation in Ukraine, Tsai Ing-wen issued the so-called "four instructions" on February 23, such as "continuously strengthening the preparation of military dynamics in the Taiwan Strait", "comprehensively upgrading the response to cognitive operations", and "continuing to respond to various economic variables to maintain the stability of the material, price and stock exchange market". The competent department of foreign affairs of the DPP authorities declared on the 25th that it "severely condemns" Russia for launching a war in violation of the "UN Charter", and in order to urge the Russian side to stop its military aggression against Ukraine and resume peaceful dialogue between all parties as soon as possible, the DPP authorities announced that they will participate in the "economic sanctions" imposed by the international community against Russia. Su Zhenchang, head of the administrative organ of the DPP authorities, also threatened in an interview on the morning of the 25th that he would very severely condemn Russia's aggressive actions and said that he would sanction them at the same time as his democratic partners. In fact, as early as a few days ago, there was a Taiwan media relaying the statement of the US publication that the US government invited "Asian allies" to jointly restrict Russia's economic development, and has won the support of Japan, Singapore, and the Taiwan region, because these three places are the main sources of semiconductor and computer chips that Russia relies on. The statement of the foreign affairs department of the DPP authorities on the 25th also confirmed the matter, which declared that Taiwan, as a "member of the democratic camp of the international community," "expressed its deepest regret" that Russia did not resolve the dispute peacefully through diplomatic consultation. In order to urge the Russian side to stop its "military aggression" against Ukraine and to resume peaceful dialogue between the parties as soon as possible, the DPP authorities announced that they would participate in the international community's economic sanctions against Russia. He also stressed that it will continue to coordinate closely with the United States and other places with similar ideas and take appropriate countermeasures to help Ukraine get rid of the scourge of war at an early date and restore regional and global peace and stability. Su Zhenchang also choked when he was interviewed before going to the legislature on the morning of the 25th, "We are just as stern as we condemn this kind of aggressive action." He even took the opportunity to play a role, stressing that the situation in Taiwan and Ukraine is very different, because the Taiwan region is "not only important in the world industrial chain", but also the geopolitical or geographical environment, as well as the unity and efforts of the whole of Taiwan. However, this sophistry has indeed included the ridicule of the majority of people, including many Taiwan netizens, and the taiwan authorities' will and backs can be seen. Perhaps the Taiwan authorities can have a certain impact on the perception of the Taiwan people by controlling the media, so that the people of Taiwan still have expectations for the United States, and those politicians, whether they are the Democratic Progressive Party or the Kuomintang, actually have a clear understanding of the us's rebellion. If that day comes, the United States will only treat Taiwan as it did to Ukraine, and will not give Taiwan substantial support except to fan the flames on the sidelines and act as a "cheerleader." If the situation changes, these politicians of the DPP authorities will certainly have already arranged a way out, and in the end it will always be only the ordinary people in Taiwan who will suffer.

In the end, the United States instigated the Russian-Ukrainian war and chose to appear in Taiwan a few days ago, which shows that the Continuous Public Hype of the United States in its conspiracy and true purpose can be described as Sima Zhao's heart. The United States is afraid that Taiwan will suddenly wake up, so it is necessary to inject Taiwan with a soothing agent so that Tsai Ing-wen will continue to feel that Taiwan is different from Ukraine and that Taiwan is more important than Ukraine, so that the Taiwan authorities will continue to live in fantasy and continue to manipulate the DPP authorities between the hands of the stocks. At the same time, it is also creating an illusion for Taiwan, so that the DPP authorities believe that even if the United States does not send troops to Ukraine now, it will choose to send troops to Taiwan. The authorities' distorting rhetoric and black-and-white sophistry will not win the people's trust, and a vain attempt to grasp the straw of the United States is even more a fool's dream.

Of course, this behavior of the United States is also testing the bottom line of the Chinese mainland, but as far as the future form is concerned, if the DPP authorities continue to act obstinately, the consequences will be nothing more than being squeezed out of the use value by the United States and abandoned. Compared with the happy end of those who are close to their relatives and enemies, the DPP authorities should have a clear understanding of the situation and avoid embarking on the desperate road of the people's hearts and minds. Since Chinese mainland will not abandon any of his compatriots, he will certainly not condone any separatist who dares to bring calamity to the country and the people, after all, reality is cruel and war is merciless. It is hoped that the current Russian-Ukrainian incident will be enough to give DPP politicians a wake-up call: The United States is a friend of the United States, not a backer, while the mainland is a compatriot rather than an enemy.
