On the morning of February 26, WAIC · The 2022 Shanghai Artificial Intelligence Developer Conference was successfully opened in the Chuangjing Technology Center of Shanghai Lingang New Area. In the dialogue "What are the advantages and disadvantages of both universities and enterprises in the cultivation of developer talents", a number of university representatives believed that in terms of talent training, the advantage of the school is that the theoretical knowledge is solid, and it gathers high-level talents in many aspects, and the disadvantage is that the practice is disconnected from society. One of the guests also compared the process of students from school to competent position to a 100-meter race, believing that when colleges and universities carry out the first 50 meters of training work, they simply complete the knowledge transfer work, and do not know the tasks and needs of the last fifty meters, resulting in a huge gap between the talents cultivated and the talents that the enterprise really needs. Therefore, the guest advocated that school-enterprise cooperation should be carried out in the first meter of the 100-meter race, and exchange activities between enterprises and universities should be carried out regularly.
Xu Yiya, senior vice president of Xiaoyi Robot, told everyone about the advantages of enterprises in talent training from the perspective of industrialization landing. In the past ten years, Xiaoyi Robot has been working in the artificial intelligence industry and has rich experience in industry cases and industrialization landing. At the same time, Xiaoi Robot has deep cooperation with many colleges and universities, based on its own industrialization landing experience combined with the theoretical and core algorithm talents of universities, resulting in a large number of industry-university-research results.
In the subsequent "how should the school and enterprises combine their respective advantages and cooperate together", Mr. Xu proposed that school-enterprise cooperation could be carried out in the first and second years of freshman and sophomore year to provide students with as many practical opportunities as possible. And hope that on the basis of Lingang's complete industry-university-research ecology, enterprises will enter the school more, promote the innovative integration of the two sides in several aspects such as teaching materials and student practice, so that students can understand as soon as possible that AI enterprises not only need code farmers, but also need talents with expertise and comprehensive ability such as algorithm scientists, architects, and product planners, and do a good job of career planning as soon as possible to adapt to rapid changes in the market and technology.
As early as 2018, Xiaoi Robot deliberately set up a wisdom academy to set up AI experience courses to break the barriers between enterprises and universities, so that students can get career experience in AI as soon as possible and understand the application of the AI industry. Therefore, Mr. Xu hopes that Xiaoyi Robot can have further cooperation with universities in this regard, explore more and more innovative cooperation models, and work together to make more contributions to the training of national AI talents.
