Speaking of ideals, Peng Qi said that Master Hou Baolin once threw out a riddle in the cross-talk paragraph, "One person can do it, two people can't do it", and the mystery is a "dream". Peng Qi's first dream was to become a scientist, and he began to watch "100,000 Whys" before school age, but an accident shattered his dream.
When he was 17 years old in high school, fate tricked him, and ordinary eye diseases were misdiagnosed by quacks, resulting in blindness (first-degree visual disability). The sudden blow plunged him into the abyss of pain that he could not extricate himself from, and asked himself: Can I still have a dream?
As the saying goes: there is no way out of the sky. In 1977, at the age of 21, Peng Qi attended a massage training class for the blind in Shashi. In order to realize his dream in life, he humbly sought advice, eagerly delved into Braille and related knowledge, and after graduation, he was left to work in the massage clinic of the class unit.
With his diligent hands and exquisite technology, Peng Qi is full of enthusiasm for patients, and has been rated as an advanced worker by the unit every year, and has been rated as a self-taught pacesetter in Hubei Province, an outstanding special education worker of the National Foundation for the Disabled, a top ten star youth in Shashi, a labor model in Shashi, a model for the self-improvement of the disabled in Shashi, etc., and has also been included in the "Dictionary of Famous People with Disabilities in China" and the "Dictionary of Famous Doctors of Chinese mainland". In addition, he has been teaching at the Massage School for the Blind in Hubei Province for more than 3 years.
In 1997, shashi rehabilitation hospital was restructured, and he led a group of blind people to earn a living for themselves and founded the Pengqi Traditional Chinese Medicine Massage Center. In 2005, it became a demonstration store for the blind in Hubei Province, and now it has developed into Xiaojiafang Main Store and 5 subordinate branches, with a total of 40 employees, of which blind doctors account for half.
Peng Qi obtained a college degree by participating in distance training at Tsinghua University.
For more than 40 years, he has trained more than 500 masseurs for the province and the whole country, including more than 150 students. Peng Qi is good at comprehensive treatment of bone and joint soft tissue diseases, internal medicine miscellaneous diseases (such as coronary heart disease, vertigo, gastrointestinal diseases, etc.), pediatric massage, nerve injury sequelae, and the use of traditional acupuncture for comprehensive treatment, and strives to identify, accurate, refined, ingenious and new. In the past 24 years, pain has been resolved or alleviated for more than 50,000 patients. The 4 papers written in summary were published in professional journals at or above the provincial level.
In order to adapt to the needs of work, learning and the development of the new era, he learned to use a special screen reading software mobile phone for the blind, which can chat, text-to-speech, and communicate barrier-free.
Peng Qi is now also the vice chairman of the Hubei Provincial Blind Association and the chairman of the Jingzhou Blind Association, but he still insists on treating patients and taking students to practice in the frontline every day.
