Despite Chelsea's recent world club cup title, Tuchel is already struggling with his side's future at the end of the season. With contracts with the club expiring on the verge of expiring in the offseason this summer, it seems that some of them may eventually move to other clubs. According to wide sources, Barcelona have offered Chelsea right-back Azpilicueta a two-year contract and given that there are no further negotiations between the defender and his current club, it seems likely that he will be transferred in the summer window. Considering that the Spaniard will turn 33 in August and has already been replaced by Reece James from Tuchel's squad, now could be a good time for the talented defender to embark on a new adventure and for Chelsea to finally bring in a long-term replacement.
Durst
Perhaps the person most likely to replace Azpilicueta this summer is none other than Barcelona defender Serginot Dest. Despite moving to the Spanish giants in 2020 for 21 million euros, the defender has yet to meet expectations and could reportedly be sold this summer. If Chelsea are looking for a young defender with potential and don't mind playing as a substitute for James, Durst could be the club's best shortcut this summer. Despite his valuation of €49 million, he could be worth much less in the upcoming transfer window.
Tyler Adams
The U.S. international has been linked to the Premier League for some time, in large part because of his performances in the Bundesliga. Not only is Adams a great right-back, he can also play as a wing-back, midfielder and even as a centre-back when necessary. That will certainly make him a useful player in Tuchel's squad.
Jeremy Flimpong
If Tuchel is keen to stick to his 3-4-3 formation and use full-backs more frequently next season, the club may want to take a closer look at Bayer Leverkusen's full-back Jeremy Flippool. Although the Dutch genius is not known for his defensive prowess, Flynbon has become increasingly outstanding in the Bundesliga with his extraordinary speed and technical ability. Since moving from Celtic last year, Flimpoon has become one of Europe's most promising full-backs and will provide enough competition for James' right wing.
