Before Zhang Xueliang left, he revealed his heart (part 2) Zu Bingmin felt that the Duke of Han was as bold as a native of northeast China

After being interviewed at home, Zu Bingmin (first from the right) and Fu Honglin (middle) took the initiative to invite the author to take a group photo in front of the door when they were parting.

Zu Bingmin: Your coming to interview this time is of great significance and will also be of great gain

Zhang Xueliang did not say it here, but in Zhang Xueliang's dictation and Tang Degang's "Oral History of Zhang Xueliang", Zhang Xueliang said: "I have a lot of girlfriends, and the strangest thing about me is the husband of these three girlfriends, which one is more than one Needless to say, they probably know clearly and clearly about me and their wives( things), but pretend to be stupid." It's not that there is no status, it's all quite status, it's very strange. I'll just say strange people, strange things. There is one thing, I have power, and this has a lot to do with power, I am not fighting for my power, people come because of my power, this is also very related. And I won't say it, I'll say this again and you will understand, if a woman wants to touch me, she will not leave. If I were young, I would start a class on how to manage women. Which three girlfriends are those three, I don't say, I don't say. I tell you this, both Chinese and foreign, white, Chinese, the prostitute does not count, the money to buy, the prostitute does not count, I have eleven girlfriends, mistresses! My mistress counts eleven. ”

In the conversation with Zhang Xueliang, I felt that he was still as bold as our northeastern natives. When he talked about his love of watching Peking Opera, he said that when we listened to Peking Opera, we sat in the lower row. Then he wrote a poem in passing: "Listening to the play and sitting down in the row, the stinky fart is really difficult to suffer." I am not afraid to behead, and I will do it again when I die. After saying that, he said to me, "I haven't told anyone about this poem, it's too vulgar." ”

In the summer of 1991, Zhang Xueliangzhen came to the United States. I rushed to New York to attend his birthday celebration, and by this time Zhao Yidi had already sent Zhang Xueliang to Madame Bei.

Before Lu Zhengcao met with Zhang Xueliang, he had consulted me, and the main topic was whether Zhang Xueliang was convenient for him to go back to the mainland to have a look. Should I go back? What will be the U.S. reaction? What will be Taiwan's reaction?

I said that Taiwan is very relieved about Zhang Xueliang, which is very different from before. He had no problem going back, the problem was with himself. He also had to see if Miss Zhao Si agreed or disagreed. Now it seems that there is no obstacle to his health.

Lu Zhengcao mainly talked to me about the attitude of the US side towards Zhang Xueliang. I said that the United States didn't know much about him, but when we brought it up, people still knew.

I also asked Lu Zhengcao, was he ordered to invite General Zhang to the United States this time, or was he on a private visit? If you were ordered to invite him, you would not be able to go to The Shou Tang, you are a very famous figure, and people will think that you are here to unite the united front when they see you. I suggested that he go to Madame Bay the next or three days, and that he talk to him carefully. After listening, Lu Zhengcao expressed his agreement with my opinion. His contact with Zhang Xueliang in the United States also did the same.

At the end of 1991, I also met Zhang Xueliang once in Taiwan, when Zhao Yidi was at home. Compared with Zhang Xueliang when they first met, he was able to talk and laugh freely, and he judged the two of them. When I met, I didn't talk much, it was all Zhao Si's speech. She gave me her bible lessons and thanked the Lord again and again.

I met them after they settled in Hawaii, but pushed them out by car. I saw him and knew he was going to go home to see his mood, absolutely unchanged, but absolutely impossible. Especially after the death of his fifth brother, as soon as he mentioned returning to the mainland, Zhao Si said that after he returned, his relatives and close branches would come to see him, and he could not help but look at him. Coupled with climate changes and dietary changes, there is no benefit to his body. I think she was right about all that she said. Now he is in this situation, and it is impossible to go back. Especially the expectations of my hometown, it is a pity. Zhang Xueliang had made a wish to bury the old marshal's coffin from Jinzhou Stagecoach to Marshal Lin, which was also a pity. Zhao Si was most concerned about his body, so he wouldn't let him go back, and now it was even more impossible. You said that you can only go back by flying one night a day, is it possible according to Zhang Xueliang's current situation?

Speaking of this, Dr. Zu Bingmin saw that our party all looked regretful, and he seemed to be comforted, and seemed to announce: "Your coming this time is of great significance, and you will also gain a lot." I have a special respect for this trip. I've said hello to all the people involved and will definitely be interviewed, which is also very satisfying. ”

Subsequently, Dr. Zu introduced who he had greeted one by one, including Mrs. Bei and Ge Dawei. These are the people we desperately want to meet and have no place to deal with.

Before saying goodbye to Dr. Zu, after our group took a group photo with his apartment as the background, he deliberately pulled me over and took another photo with the couple.

In June 1999, Dr. Zu Bingmin was interviewed by the author in the garden of his home in San Francisco.

Zu Bingmin devoted his life to the participation of Asian Pacific Americans in politics, opening a new page in the participation of Asian Pacific Americans in politics

The following article is my memorial to Dr. Zu Bingmin.

In 2005, unfortunate news came out of the US media that Professor Zu Bingmin, a heavyweight Asian elder of the US Republican Party and a former White House adviser, died in San Francisco on February 26, 2005 due to liver cancer, at the age of 81. Before his death, he was president of the California Asian American Foundation for Political Education at the University of San Francisco. Some commentators said that Zu Bingmin devoted his life to the participation of Asian Pacific Americans in politics, opening a new page in the participation of Asian Pacific Americans in politics.

Professor Zu Bingmin's Funeral Committee issued a statement pointing out, "Professor Zu Bingmin has served the U.S. government and overseas Chinese compatriots in the United States for decades in the American political arena, education and academia, and has spared no effort to promote the integration of Asian-Pacific Americans into mainstream society. ”

On February 28, Yu Jinshan, chairman of the Chinese General Chamber of Commerce, said in his memorial service that Zu Bingmin, who died in California, never refused to help people, and everyone remembered that after the "9.11" incident, the Chinese community was severely damaged and in great need of care and support. It was a consolation for relatives and friends, a reunion after a great disaster for family members, and an encouragement to the Chinese community to stand up again. He said that encouraging, supporting, leading and personally supporting the Asia-Pacific American community has spared no effort, which is Zu Bingmin's contribution to Asia-Pacific Americans.

In February 2007, two weeks after the death of Zu Bingmin, the University of Kennedy announced today that it would rename the School of Asia-Pacific to Zu Bingmin Asia-Pacific College in honor of the deceased Chinese leader and first dean for his contribution to promoting Asian American political participation and Chinese education. Fu Honglin, Zu Bingmin's widow, attended the announcement ceremony.

Founded in 1964, the University of Kennedy in the San Francisco Bay Area of California is a small, private humanities university. The Asia-Pacific Academy was established in 1985 to train students from Asian countries and to train professionals jointly with China. Zu Bingmin became the first dean, and he played an indispensable role in the difficult process of promoting the participation of Asian Americans in politics.

Readers may have a sense of painting snakes when they read this, but I think that only by understanding dr. Zu's personality and evaluation can they understand the role played by Zu Bingmin when Lu Zhengcao went to the United States to meet Zhang Xueliang.

On April 9, 2005, the United States held a Memorial Service in New York for Dr. Zu Bingmin, an educator and activist who has contributed a lot to the Asia-Pacific American community, at the Auditorium of the China Public Office.
