Ming Dynasty Chronicle - created a generation of prosperity, but could not escape the "usurpation" cage of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di

There is no escaping the word "usurpation"

After Zhu Di entered the city of Nanjing, Liu Bowen's second son Liu Jing said bluntly to him: "After a hundred lifetimes of Your Highness, you cannot escape a single usurpation. History is indeed as Liu Jing said, Wenzhi martial arts are brilliant, and the first impression of posterity on Zhu Di is still to seize the throne of his nephew!

Zhu Di was the fourth son of Zhu Yuanzhang, born when Chen Youyu attacked Dangtu, Zhu Yuanzhang was so busy that he did not care to look at his son at all, and did not give him a name until he was seven years old, like all brothers, Zhu Di's name was "wood" in the middle. Zhu Yuanzhang believed in the five elements, believing that he belonged to fire, fire gave birth to wood, and all sons had to be "wood", the eldest son Zhu Biao, the second son Zhu Zhu, and the third son Zhu Tang.

Zhu Yuanzhang attached great importance to the education of his sons, on the one hand, he arranged for the Great Confucians to teach Confucian classics, and on the other hand, he let them enter the military camp and participate in military training with the soldiers. Later, in order to experience the difficulties of starting their own business, they were sent back to their hometown in Fengyang many times, and asked to personally go down to the field to experience the hardships of farmers.

In the third year of Hongwu, Zhu Di was crowned as the King of Yan, and for thirteen years, he was in Beiping, when he was 20 years old, and his style was flourishing. Peiping was on the Ming and Mongolian fronts, which gave Zhu Di a stage to show his military talents. In the twenty-third year of Hongwu, Zhu Yuanzhang gave Zhu Di a chance to command a large army, and ordered him to restrain the Beiping army, with Fu Youde, the Duke of Yingguo, as a general, and went out of Gubeikou to expedition to mobei. In this battle, Zhu Di showed a superb strategy, forcing the northern Yuan Tai Wei Nai'er not to spend, returning with a big victory, and the good news reached Nanjing, and Zhu Yuanzhang excitedly shouted, "The King of Yan, the Qing Desert, has no worries about the north." ”

Since then, Zhu Di has been continuously dispatched to the Northern Expedition, and Zhu Di's reputation in the army has grown. Among the many sons, the King of Jin and the King of Yan were the most important to Zhu Yuanzhang, and after the death of the King of Jin, Zhu Yuanzhang ordered Zhu Di to lead the kings to guard against border troubles, and his reputation reached its peak, this year was the thirty-first year of Hongwu, and Zhu Yuanzhang died in the same year. When did Zhu Di breed ambition? Many people say that after Zhu Biao's death (Hongwu's death in the twenty-fifth year of Zhu Biao), if Zhu Biao was alive, Zhu Di would not dare to have a different heart. In fact, this is not the case, the "History of Ming" records that "every time the King of Yan entered the dynasty, the princes were invaded by words", Zhu Biao had long been jealous of zhu Di in the rise, and as Zhu Di's prestige grew, this phenomenon became more prominent, and there was a tendency for Li Jiancheng to compete with Li Shimin in the Tang Dynasty.

After Zhu Biao's death, Zhu Yuanzhang made his grandson Zhu Yunjiao the grandson, and the people of Jin and Yan were dissatisfied. Looking through the history books, who has crossed the son and established a grandson? Moreover, these sons are very good! However, due to Zhu Yuanzhang's obscenity, the kings did not dare to erupt. In the twenty-eighth year of Hongwu, the second brother King of Qin died, and in the thirty-first year, the third brother King Jin died, and Zhu Di became zhu Yuanzhang's eldest son, believing in his heart that the position of prince should have been his. The greater the resentment, the greater the ambition.

After Zhu Yunjiao ascended the throne, he adopted the opinions of Qi Tai and others to violently cut the domain, cutting the five kings in a row, and forcing the King of Xiang to set himself on fire! Then the spearhead was aimed at Zhu Di, changing the officials of Beiping over and over again, staring at the every move of the palace day and night, forcing Zhu Di to pretend to be crazy and sell stupid, and to wear cotton jackets and talk nonsense in the summer. In June of the first year of Jianwen, the imperial court sent the envoys of the King of Yan to prison, tortured him and finally forced him to admit that the King of Yan had rebelled, and Zhu Yunjiao immediately issued an edict to cut the title of King Of Zhu Di and arrest the subordinates of the royal palace! The edict had not yet been sent to Beiping, zhu Di had received the news, with 800 guards of the palace launched a mutiny, captured Beiping overnight, and with the prestige of the Beiping garrison, the surrounding cities and pools surrendered! This year, Zhu Di was exactly 40 years old.

Although he took the lead, Zhu Di resisted the whole country with a corner of Beiping, and his armor was tens of thousands, while Zhu Yunjiao, on the other hand, mobilized more than a million troops to suppress it, occupying an absolute advantage. Helplessly, first Geng Bingwen, then Li Jinglong, all straw bales, were defeated by Zhu Di successively, a large number of troops surrendered, grain and grass were sent to each other, so that Zhu Di had the courage to go straight to Nanjing, and finally Li Jinglong and the King of Zhou, who was imprisoned by Zhu Yunjiao in Nanjing, opened the city gate, Zhu Di entered the city, Zhu Yunjiao's whereabouts were unknown, and Daming changed the emperor.

Zhu Di's throne was stolen, he knew all this, and he knew that Liu Jing was telling the truth, but he still wanted to influence the conclusion of the history books through hard work. He was not soft on the literati who did not obey him, Qi Tai, JingQing, and others were full of door slashes, and Fang Xiaoru cursed the Ten Tribes; he destroyed all traces of Jianwen for four years, sent Hu Qian to seek immortals, and asked, Zheng He went to the West several times, actually secretly searched for Emperor Jianwen, living to see people, and dead to see corpses, only in this way could he feel at ease; he worked hard to rule, Wenzhi martial arts brilliantly, compiled the "Yongle Canon", and created a prosperous yongle. He wanted to rely on these to make future generations forget Emperor Jianwen, only remember this prosperous world, and forget his "usurpation".

Three baby sons of the wife game

Empress Zhu Di was the eldest daughter of Xu Da and had three sons, namely the eldest son Zhu Gaoxu, the second son Zhu Gaoxu, and the third son Zhu Gaoxu. The three sons have their own characteristics, Zhu Gaozhuo is a man of great stature, plus his body is fatter, how to look at it is an old and good man, deeply pleasing to Zhu Yuanzhang, who was established by Zhu Yuanzhang as the son of the King of Yan long ago, Zhu Gaoxu is just the opposite, loves the military, likes to fight and kill, and behaves frivolously, which Is disliked by Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Gaoxuan is the smallest, but the darkest, no less than Zhu Gaoxu to seize the wife, so as to secretly reap the benefits of the fisherman. The personality characteristics of the three people, "Daming Style", are more well portrayed.

Zhu Di's favorite should be Zhu Gaoxu. In the Battle of Jingnan, Li Jinglong led an army of 500,000 to attack Beiping, Zhu Di left Zhu Gaozi to defend the city, and he took the elite and Zhu Gaoxuan with him to find the King of Ning to "borrow troops", if it were not for Li Jinglong's straw bag, Beiping City would have been broken long ago, presumably Zhu Di had been ready to lose Beiping and Zhu Gaozi when he left, and taking Zhu Gaoxuan with him was proof.

Ming Dynasty Chronicle - created a generation of prosperity, but could not escape the "usurpation" cage of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di

Although Zhu Gaoxu was a man of great skill, he fought bravely and bravely, and the Battle of Jingnan shone brightly, not inferior at all to Zhu Di's generals Zhang Yu, Qiu Fu, and others, and even saved Zhu Di from danger twice. The History of the Ming Dynasty records this:

In the Battle of Baigou River, Cheng Zu was within the reach of Qu Neng, and Gao Xu shuai rode thousands of horses, straight ahead to fight a decisive battle, and beheaded the father and son in the battle. After the defeat of Chengzu Dongchang, Zhang Yu was killed in battle, and Chengzu went alone, and Shi Gaoxu led his division to repel the Southern Army.

Qu Neng was a fierce general who had broken through the city gates during the siege of Beiping, but Li Jinglong was afraid of his efforts and ordered him to retreat. In the Battle of Baigou River, Qu Neng almost captured Zhu Di, and Zhu Gaoxu suddenly killed Qu Neng's father and son, which showed his bravery. In the Battle of Dongchang, Zhu Di was heavily surrounded by Sheng Yong, Zhang Yu was killed in battle, and it was Zhu Gaoxu who brought troops to rescue him, otherwise the Battle of Jingnan would have ended prematurely.

In the fourth year of Jianwen, Zhu Di fought to the yangtze river and prepared to cross the river from Puzikou, and then encountered Sheng Yong's stubborn sniper, Zhu Di was defeated, hesitating whether to retire and negotiate peace, Zhu Gaoxu led the army to reinforcements, stabilized the hearts of the army, Zhu Di was very happy, and said to Zhu Gaoxu, "Mianzhi! The world is sick. "It means that you work hard, Shizi is sick, you have a good chance, I am optimistic about you!" Zhu Gaoxu's heart was clear, and the whole person fell into excitement, leading his army to repel Sheng Yong and completely opening the door to cross the river.

Zhu Di ascended the throne, he wanted to make a crown prince, hesitated, whether to choose Zhu Gaoxu or Zhu Gaoxu, according to the rules set by Zhu Yuanzhang, Zhu Gaoxu should be chosen, and all the civil and military officials were also inclined to Zhu Gaoxu, Zhu Gaoxu had a high prestige in the army, and Qiu Fu and others all clearly supported Zhu Gaoxu. Zhu Di consulted the chancellor, and Xie Jin strongly advised Zhu Gaozi, and a sentence of "good saint sun" impressed Zhu Di. Good Saint Sun refers to Zhu Di's grandson, Zhu Gaozi's son Zhu Zhanji, later Ming Xuanzong. Zhu Di felt that this child was like himself inside and out, very fond of it, and had been personally taught by his side since he was a child, and Zhu Zhanji was also quite angry, winning the title of "Good Saint Sun". In the first confrontation, Zhu Gaozi gained a slight advantage with his son.

Ming Dynasty Chronicle - created a generation of prosperity, but could not escape the "usurpation" cage of Ming Chengzu Zhu Di

Although Zhu Gaozi became the crown prince, Zhu Di still did not like him, especially the "sage" atmosphere on his body. Zhu Di spent his life fighting horses, killing decisively, and had a natural dislike for the literati's set of crepe crepe. Zhu Gaoxu and Zhu Gaoxuan looked at it and kept saying bad things about the crown prince, slandering that the subordinates of the Eastern Palace only knew Prince Renyi and did not respect the emperor, especially Xie Jin, who specially took advantage of Zhu Di's Northern Expedition to be absent from the Capital Division, and went to Beijing to pay homage to the crown prince privately, without any courtesy of anyone, suggesting that the prince and a number of civilian officials had formed a wide circle of henchmen, Zhu Di was furious, and all the subordinates of the Eastern Palace were imprisoned in Zhao Prison, Xie Jin eventually died in Zhao Prison, and Zhu Gaozi was almost deposed.

Although the two younger brothers have been causing trouble for themselves, Zhu Gaozi still looks like a "sage", and sometimes the two make big mistakes, and he still cries and pleads in front of Zhu Di. It was also this "benevolence" that made Zhu Gaoxu's position in the hearts of Wen Chen more and more stable, and Zhu Di also knew that the overall situation had been decided, so he sent Zhu Gaoxu and Zhu Gaoxuan to the fiefdom.

Zhu Di died on the way back from the Fifth Northern Expedition, fearing that Zhu Gaoxu and others would get the news and take advantage of the opportunity to rebel, the left and right ministers secretly sent people to inform the prince in a hurry, until Zhu Gaozi made all the preparations before announcing that this somewhat "pediatric" drama of taking the wife was over.

Conclusion

Tang Taizong Li Shimin created the rule of Zhenguan and laid the foundation for the prosperity of the Tang Dynasty, which has been praised by people for thousands of years, but the stain of the change of Xuanwumen has also been spurned by people. Zhu Di and Li Shimin are so similar, they are also "plotting rebellion" to the throne, and they also have brilliant Wenzhi martial arts, but thousands of years later, when singing the praises of Yongle's prosperity, they can never escape a "usurpation" word. Perhaps it is precisely because of the word "usurpation" that they have a stronger motivation to exert themselves and block the leisurely mouths of history. As a historian, I think Zhu Di is a hero, the eldest husband was born between heaven and earth, can soar nine clouds, why should he cower and shrink! "Usurp" is "usurp"!
