Since February 23, 2022, the total number of ships stranded upstream and downstream of the Guiping Locks and Datengxia Locks has exceeded 400 per day, and this situation has lasted for more than 48 hours. According to the relevant provisions of the "Emergency Plan for Navigation Emergencies of the Golden Waterway of Xijiang City", it meets the conditions for initiating a level III( larger) emergency response. After research, it was decided to start the level III( larger) emergency response to the navigation emergency of the Xijiang Golden Waterway in Guigang City.
This Circular shall be implemented from 12:00 noon on February 26, 2022.

In view of the fact that the total number of ships stranded in the upper and lower reaches of the Guiping Locks and datengxia Locks exceeds 400 per day, and the situation has lasted for more than 48 hours, the Guigang Xijiang Golden Waterway Navigation Emergency Emergency Command Headquarters launched the Guigang Xijiang Golden Waterway Navigation Emergency Response At 12:00 on February 25 at 12:00 on February 25.
It is understood that the main reason for the ship's delay is due to the annual maintenance of the Datengxia Locks. At present, the Dayengxia Locks have successfully completed the maintenance work at 5:30 a.m. on February 24, and the navigation has resumed as scheduled.
Since the trial opening of the Datengxia Locks, we have given full play to the important central role of the Golden Waterway of the Pearl River, accumulating 23,000 ships passing through the gates in 2021, with a total nuclear load of 49 million tons, and won the excellent annual assessment of the Guangxi Waterway Department for two consecutive years. This annual overhaul is the second planned maintenance since the Datengxia Locks were put into operation, including herringbone door inspection, back tie rod adjustment, ship column maintenance, metal structure anti-corrosion, hydraulic building repair, safety facilities transformation and other 37 major items and 148 sub-items.
The lock center of Datengxia Company made scientific planning, paid close attention to the quality of maintenance, strictly inspected the details, standardized the process flow, accurately grasped the operation timing of lock maintenance and waterless lock room, went deep into the lock room flow channel inspection, checked the safety hazards of hydraulic buildings, tested the sensitivity and reliability of navigation facilities one by one, accurately assessed the performance of key facilities, and ensured the safety of lock operation.
The overall image of the overhaul locks has been significantly improved, and the Datengxia Locks will serve the Pearl River shipping in a safer and more efficient way and help the economic and social development of the river basin.
