Camilla Belle Routh (born October 2, 1986) is an American actress, a dark-haired beauty with a demonic smile who began her acting career early on. She began appearing in television commercials in 1987, when she was only nine months old, appearing on disney channels such as "Rip Girls" in 2000, "Silent Killing" in 2005, and "When a Stranger Calls" in 2006.
Camilla was born in Los Angeles, California. Her mother, Cristina Gould, is a Brazilian fashion designer, and her father, Jack Wesley Routh, owns an architectural firm and is a composer of country music. Camilla grew up in a Catholic family. She attended Catalica Elementary School in São Paulo and then at Marlborough School, a girls' high school in Los Angeles. She grew up speaking Portuguese, and during her childhood Camilla would spend time in her mother's hometown of Santos, Brazil.
At the age of five, she starred in the first NBC thriller, Trapped Under the Earth. In Lost World: Jurassic Park (1997), she plays a little girl who is attacked by dinosaurs.
In 1998, she played Aubrey Shepard in Odyssey's family radio drama Adventures. Following Steven Seagal's daughter's turnaround in The Patriot (1998), she was nominated for the 1999 Young Artist in Motion Picture Award for her portrayal of sandra Bullock's role in Practical Magic (1998), as well as another nomination. That same year, she made a cameo appearance in the television series Walker: Texas Rangers.
She won her first lead role in the TV film "Replace Daddy" (1999) and was nominated for the third and fourth Young Artist Awards in the Disney Channel TV movie Rip Girls (2000).
Camilla starred in the TV film Back to the Secret Garden (2001) and subsequently starred in the independent film Quiet (2005).
After a short break, she reprised her role and played the lead role in the remake Of Strangers (2006). She then played the lead role in the biggest box office record to date, a film directed by Roland Emmerich. Since grossing $270 million at the box office, Camilla has had multiple lead roles in smaller indie films, short films and unreleased films. As of October 2018, her last film was Mad Whale (2017).
Camilla once spent some time with Joe Jonas and then became his girlfriend; however, there are many voices pointing to Camilla snatching Jonas from American singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. After this incident, Taylor Swift wrote a song "Better Than Revenge" to fight camilla, which was included in her album Confessions of Love, which was not only the best-selling album in the United States in 2011, but also earned Taylor Swift the American Music Award. Camilla's career gradually went down after this incident.
In October 2010, the American professional film website announced that the 100 women with the most beautiful faces voted by millions of netizens won the championship
