According to Hong Kong's "Sing Tao Network", the Hong Kong government held the first oath-taking ceremony for district councillors at the North Point Community Hall this morning, and refusing to attend was equivalent to losing the qualification of district councillors (referred to as DQ). Without replying whether to attend the ceremony, Chai Wan Tate District Councillor Choi Chi-keung, who is an "independent pan-democrat", posted on Facebook this morning that he arrogantly declared that he would never participate in the oath ceremony of the relevant district councillors. In response, The Secretary for Home Affairs of Hong Kong, Mr Tsui Ying-wai, said that he had been deemed a refusal to take the oath under the Oaths and Declarations Ordinance and would not arrange to take a new oath if he needed to leave office.
