Mr. Liu Jiang is a well-known calligraphy seal engraver and calligraphy educator at home and abroad in China. He is currently a professor at the China Academy of Art and the executive president of Xiling Printing Agency. Liu Jiang Art Museum is located at No. 16 Zhongshan Middle Road, which was originally an old house from the late Qing Dynasty and is a typical house in the Zhejiang pai area. Supervised and guided by the Hangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics and Historical Buildings Protection Center and supported by the Shangcheng District Cultural and Tourism Bureau, the entire repair process lasted nearly 2 years.

Liu Dan, president of the Liujiang Art Research Association in Zhejiang Province, said: "The walls of this building are particularly high, as high as two or three floors. The door is particularly small, it is a single door or a small double door. The building existed in 1911, and it's been more than a hundred years now. We went in through this little door and it was big inside. ”
After entering through the tall wall, there are two floors, which were originally the upper house and the lower shop, the first floor to do business, and the second floor to live. This is the characteristic of a typical Zhejiang school of residences. Lou Shu, director of the Famous City Protection Department of the Hangzhou Municipal Center for the Protection of Cultural Relics, Heritage and Historical Buildings, said: "Even the houses of some rich people have this characteristic, and the rich are not exposed. It can be seen that it has some tall facades, and it may be that the outside doors and windows look more simple, but there will be carvings inside this door and window. ”
The interior area of Liu Jiang Art Museum is more than 600 square meters, and there are 8 compartment exhibition halls and a cloister on the first floor, and a large area of glass partition windows shows Mr. Liu Jiang's calligraphy and seal engraving works.
In the details, according to the original pattern, the scenery is cleverly created, and the sense of art comes naturally.
Liu Dan said: "There is an old wall in the art museum that retains its original state, it is like a landscape painting, with a sense of primitive nature. Some people say that you can do climbing vines below, but I think it's good because it changes color with the seasons. ”
The wooden pillars in the atrium were cracked due to age, and the hoops were reinforced with copper during the repair process. In order to protect the original wooden staircase, a metal staircase was added to wrap around the outside of the wooden staircase. The space on the second floor of the exhibition hall is completely whitewashed. In order to protect the old floor, a new floor was added to it. Lou Shu, director of the Famous City Protection Department of the Hangzhou Municipal Cultural Relics and Historical Buildings Protection Center, said: "Before the repair, a large number of doors and windows on the first floor were actually missing, but some pattern partitions were still retained, and when we restored them later, we let them restore the partitions, so now some of the partitions are new, and some of the partitions are old." ”
The old building was transformed into an art gallery, and fire escapes were added to meet the fire standards, and new doors were added. Liu Dan said: "The black door is old, it can not be demolished, it is retained first, the old door is opened inside, but the door is opened to meet the fire standards, so we re-made the door cover and built a new door." ”
On the lively Southern Song Dynasty Royal Street, there is such an art museum, and the ancient Zhejiang school houses display seal carvings and calligraphy, which are open to the public welfare.
