Speaking of Mr. Lei Jinming, the person who was invited to be a contributor, he can be described as a "national treasure" level figure in the restoration of cultural relics and bronzes in our province and even the whole country. He is the fourth generation of bronze restoration "bronze Zhang", especially in the second season of the "National Treasure" column held by CCTV, which went to the public and was known as a big country craftsman.
I had the privilege of meeting Mr. Lei at the Hebei Museum, which was in early 2019, when the crew of "National Treasure" entered the Hebei Museum and took a group photo with Mr. Lei when they recorded the last set of shots.
This time, I was able to "meet" Mr. Lei again on the letter that was included in the book, which was a coincidence.
Speaking of "bronze Zhang", in the Republic of China period, bronze restoration is especially famous for the "Suzhou-made", "Weixian-made", "Xi'an-made" and "Beijing-made" schools, of which the founder of "Beijing-made" was a eunuch of the Qing Palace Manufacturing Office who was nicknamed "Crooked Mouth". After the qing dynasty, a "Wanlonghe" workshop was opened in Qianmenmenfu Hutong. He took in a total of seven apprentices, one of whom was named "Zhang Entai", who inherited the mantle of his master and renamed "Wanlonghe" to "Wanlong and Bronze Bureau", mainly engaged in repairing bronzes for antique dealers in Liulichang. In 30 years, "Wanlonghe" took a total of 11 apprentices and started the bronze restoration industry of "bronze Zhang" in Beijing.
