Live Bar, February 24, Michael Mulvihill, executive vice president of the US media Fox Sports, announced the live viewing data of last Sunday's major sports events on his personal Twitter today.

On Sunday, US time, the Daytona 500, which aired on Fox TELEVISION, attracted 8.9 million viewers and became the top ratings of all U.S. prime-time TELEVISION entertainment programs so far this year.

The Daytona 500 also beat the NBA All-Star Game, which was broadcast live on TNT that night (the All-Star Game had a total of 6.28 million views at TNT and TBS), and the NBC live-streamed Winter Olympics closing ceremony (6.57 million). Michael Mulvihill said it was the biggest gap between the two events in 5 years.

It is worth mentioning that on the day of the All-Star Race, Michael Jordan missed the afternoon group photo of the NBA's 75 big stars because he went to watch his Daytona 500 team's game (the evening 75 tribute session was attended). The Daytona 500 is the most recognizable and important game in NASCAR, also known as the American F1.

While ratings for this year's NBA All-Star Game are up 6 percent from an all-time low last year, 6.28 million is still the second lowest number of viewers on record since 1990.
