The day before yesterday, when chatting with a wooden friend, he sent over a few pictures (Figures 1-2), which felt very stunning, looking horizontally like the mountains and distant daisy, looking vertically like a vast smoke wave, plausible, like a few light ink layers dyed on paper, it is simply a wood tailored according to the aesthetic of Chinese. I hadn't noticed this wood before, so I looked it up online and shared the information with you.
The scientific name of this wood is Diospyros malabarica, which is commonly known in China as indian persimmon, malabar ebony, pale moon ebony, black and white ebony, etc., which belong to the legume persimmon genus. Figure 5 is its fruit, and it is really a small persimmon.
This kind of wood feels that the domestic stock is not much, checked it online, there are few sellers, and the price is quite expensive, 4 cm thick, 20 cm square plate material, the price is almost two hundred pieces, and it is really unaffordable.
Similar to it, there is a kind of black persimmon wood (Figure 6), although the pattern is also beautiful, but compared with the black and white sandalwood, it is a little noisy, not as elegant as the black and white sandalwood.
